AD also set a record for rushing yards in a half by an OU back.

It's a shame. He might have changed the Sooners record by a couple games had he been healthy all season.

Possibly, though I don't see what game he would have won for us. Possibly the UCLA game would have gone differently had he been able to keep our defense off the field. Texas-nah. Tech-he ran for 108 and the game-winning score, the defense just didn't hold. He was healthy for TCU, we just didn't have a QB who could take pressure off him yet.
I realized that after I posted and looked at OU's schedule. OU's losses were big losses. It would have still been fun watching him all season.

Yeah the Tech game was all on the defense :meds: .

Fuck the refs in that game yeah we got jobbed but, OU had 7, a whopping 7 points in that game until the 4th quater against a weak assed Tech D.

I have defended that fucker Chuck Long for almost four years against my Sooner buddies because there was no real way to argure against the record or stats his O was putting up until this year.

I am done defending him, he wastes almost every 1st down, and when we do get 2nd and short he will waste that too.

He ruins our field position on a consistant basis.

I swear he runs the ball to the short side of the field 70% or more of the time and when he does not he expects the running backs to be able to beat two guys before there is any blocking at all.

Ugh.

I really hope you are not going to start to defend Chuck Long. okie st is the worst team in the Big 12 and in a year that the Big 12 really sucks.

Also we had a certain recruit at the game today that might explain the discovery of the tight end as an eligible reciever.

That was the best I've seen OU look all year...

... and AP showed why he and Marshawn Lynch were #1 and #2 coming outta high school.

It was good to see AP back to normal... great game.

Hell, OU could have had 600 had Manuel Johnson made an easy catch.
Who cares? okie st is the worst team the big 12. That is like racking up 700 yards rushing on Kansas St in 83 or whatever year before Snyder got there.

Peterson is only covering up how bad Chuck Long sucks with his pure talent. Only and idiot would not give AD the ball at least 30 times a game.

I never thought Mangino was that great either, hell Heupel changed almost every play at the line of scrimmage the year Mangino got assistant coach of the year during 2000.

Chuck Long sucks, he will be able to succeed with talented players just like any other coach, but I feel as long as he is in charge of the offense that OU will not win another NC.

As soon as Bomar learns and realizes he is smarter than Chuck Long, he will change all the plays at the line of scrimmage too.

BTH,I've been all over Bomar's ass for the way he played the first 6 games and now it's time to give him credit for maturing and playing much, much better football the last 4-5 games.
let's face it,he was sucking early on but he's elevated his game and gotten better.

Has there been any talk about him leaving after his junior year? Most people at Texas feel it is a foregone conclusion that he will bolt after next season. What have ya'll heard?

Yeah, he's gone after his junior year. No doubt about it. Nobody in Norman seriously thinks he's coming back after next year.

Fortunately, Allen Patrick is looking pretty capable as a replacement-and I think OU still has a good shot at DeMarco Murray.
Aleen Patrick is gone next year as well isn't he? He is a JUCO transfer.
