This year USC's offensive line is responsible for the best CF offense ever. Nobody but nobody considers Texas' current D line or any aspect of their defense to be among the best ever.
Funny but according to the NCAA.org
http://ncaasports.com/football/mens/stats/stats
Your full of it
#1 in total offense is 1989 U of Houston with 6874
#1 in scoring offense is 83 Nebraska who scored a total of 624 pts
THis year its the TEXAS LONGHORNS who Lead the Nation in Scoring not USC. So I think you mean its The TEXAS offensive line that is responsible for the best CF offense this year.
Van wrote: This year USC still has the Heisman Trophy winner and the first QB that'll be taken in the NFL draft. This year USC still has one of the best receiving corps in the nation. This year Texas' DB's are not considered to be on the same level as Matt Leinart and USC's receivers, who are considered to be the very best in the nation.
We shall see about the Heisman, but lots of teams have had the Heisman trophy winner and lost. As for your receiving corp, I never doubted their talent, but Texas has the best secondary in college football according to NFL scouts. Again, the USC receiving corp is not as good as you think they are, infact most NFL scouts would say that Miami and Ohio State have better receiving corps. Texas has 6 NFL quality DBs it can throw at USC.
Van wrote: This year USC is still coached by Pete Carroll, the guy who's led USC to another #1 ranking while maintaining the longest winning streak of the modern era. This year Texas is still coached by Mack Brown.
Keep telling yourself this, if it helps you sleep better at night. I'm not losing any sleep at night. Mack has coached Texas for 8 years and has never had a bad season. He has averaged 10 wins a year in those 8 years.
Van wrote: USC has a better running attack, both inside and outside.
Better than who, not Texas. Texas has the #3 rushing offense in the country. USC is #4. And Texas has earned its ranking by facing an average defensive ranking of 44 while USC earned their ranking facing an average defense of 72.
Van wrote: They have a better passing attack.
Yes, USC has the #4 passing offense in the country, while Texas has the #41 best passing offense but Texas has the #5 pass defense while USC has the #75 best pass defense (if you can call 75 best).
Van wrote: They have better coaching.
USC is riding a 33 game win streak, The Texas coaches are riding a 20 game win streak. Gene Chizik is riding a 30 game win streak. I still have not seen any proof that Pete Carroll is better than Mack. Who are some of the good coaches Carroll has beaten? Mack has beaten Stoops, Carr, Tressel, Tom Osborne, RC Slocam, and Nick Saban.
Van wrote: They're more explosive.
Prove it, I have not seen any stats that can prove or disprove this claim, What I can prove is that Texas is a better scoring offense than USC is.
Van wrote: They dominate in turnover ratio.
Finally you got something right, but Since Texas is the statistically superior defense and since Texas averages less than 1 turnover per game I don't see how this matters.
Van wrote: They have the most efficient and dominating offensive line in recent history.
Not according to statistics but that won't stop you from believing your BS. Texas is a better rushing team and has given up less Sacks than USC Oline has.
Van wrote: They have more big game experience.
No they don't, Texas has already played in 3 of the biggest games in college football in the last 12 months. USC has not played in a big game since last years BCS title game.
Van wrote: They have one of the most mistake proof QBs in the history of the game while Texas is led by a mistake prone RB masquerading as a QB, a guy who's prone to turning the ball over...
More BS look at the stats, Vince threw 10 ints this year, Matt threw 7. Vince faced the superior defenses this year.
Van wrote: The game will be played in the Rose Bowl.
Vince owns the Rose Bowl
