I'm reaching because I'm stating a fact on the amount of games played.
See...that is a prime example of why you're are bottoming out. You're too emotional. You really couldn't care a less. Yet here you are, for the tenth time in this thread, trying to tell everyone how it really is.
Yeah, I think I'll believe Darius over some overwhelmingly average poster.
Anyway, what part of: "I'm not talking to the retard anymore" didn't you understand?
Go away, shoalzie. You buffoon.
Pierre McGuire: "The Washington Capitals are the sleeping giants of the East. Exciting times in Washington are coming."
Rack the Rat Pack for being on cue. Dude is money.
Don't be an asshole, Jed. This is an ATG thread.
When The ATG has a banner game...it gets put in the thread.
I'll be anxiously awaiting your posts after the games where he gets shut down, then. *crickets chirping*
Though I do admit that I wish I could watch the Caps more often. The fact that he's doing all this with Andrew freakin' Cassels is pretty amazing. I'm also interested to see what the heck Chris Clark is doing being on pace for more than 10 goals this year. The stars out of alignment, or what??
Jed, ATG has only been shutout of 5 games....and the caps have won three of them. What would be the point of posting? Trust me, if he doesn't score and the caps win, I'm happy.
If I posted a reply saying: ATG didn't score. That would be spam and ridiculous.
I'm not sure what you're getting at. I'm suspecting that most of you get so riled up at my posts that you demand and want things that just don't make sense.
My advice, stay out of this thread. Take scarecrow for example. her dislike for me is tangible...yet she always bites on the hook. She's like Pavlov's dog. Her OTST post being the evidence. I pity her.

The Rat Pack wrote:I'm not sure what you're getting at. I'm suspecting that most of you get so riled up at my posts that you demand and want things that just don't make sense.
It makes perfect sense. I want you to post more and some others wish you wouldn't post at all. No wonder we contradict ourselves.
Anyway, answer the question at hand: WTF is up with Chris Clark?
That's because you're female. No one really cares what you think.
Trust me, when you're not posting...this place is better for it.
Anyway, back to the caps. Shoalzie old boy, you do realize how ridiculous you look when you drone on about how the caps are only a one man team.
The way Jed was fellating you...one would think that you'd do your research.
The Caps are going to be the best team in the league within 12-24 months. I think you even know that....and it kills you and the rest of the backbiting mooks that inhabit this board.
I've already proven that the Caps are full to the tits on the farm...but what you also neglected to study was that the caps have 14 first rounders on their squad. 7 of them from the 21st century.
I doubt there is another team in the league with that many picks. ...and I must reiterate that they are 17-18 million under the cap. Only a few can claim that...and none of them are loaded for bear on the farm....nor are they icing 7 FR's under the age of 25.
This is a down year...I stated that in my 3rd post of this thread. But the future is looking absolutely JesusHBaldheadedChrist fantastic.
I think Darius is right..and so do you.
Pierre McGuire: "The Washington Capitals are the sleeping giants of the East. Exciting times in Washington are coming."
Jed, you are correct.....it was al? who was fellating yourself & shoalzie.
It's hard to keep track of who is fellating who.
...I hope the mods plan on letting this thread run its inevitable course...which is ATG winning the Calder. I do hope that no one in power is planning on tanking this thread in a snit.
Pierre McGuire: "The Washington Capitals are the sleeping giants of the East. Exciting times in Washington are coming."
ATG now has a comfortable lead in the rookie scoring race.
..and remember the big-time farm squad I was talking about? The one with all the hot prospects..
Yeah, they're about to move into 1st place overall in the AHL.
In fact I'll go ahead and call my shot right now.
The Hershey Bears will win the Calder Cup this season.
Bank on it.
...and Dale Hunter appears to have his boys ready for another Memorial cup run.
Pierre McGuire: "The Washington Capitals are the sleeping giants of the East. Exciting times in Washington are coming."
- Went to the Wings-Pens game, wasn't impressed at all with Crosby. Wings shadowed him all night and didn't get any quality scoring chances. He was all the talk during pregame on the radio and he didn't show me much as well as the rest of the Penguins...outshot 39-17 and were 29 seconds from being shutout.
- Also during pregame, the Wings complimented the Caps on their effort and ability to go to the net. Osgood was impressed with their work ethic and how to attack the goal. I was at my company Christmas party that night so I missed the game. I'll trust the Wings' view on the Caps. Kudos to them...
- Crosby's production has slowed down with the injuries and poor play of the Pens veteran stars. I'll give Ovechkin props for being consistent and performing well while the rest of the team struggles for the most part. I would say right now, Ovechkin has moved ahead of Crosby from observing things the last week or so.

But I think we all want to hear about the Xmas party.
Only if some naked and seriously hot babes jumped out of a cake and proceeded to have sex with each other and Shoalzie had a link to the video of it.

Sorry, no crazy stuff at our party. Other than me drinking the most out of everyone there, it was a pretty tame night. Keep in mind, our company only has a dozen employees, my boss is a Christian and I'm the youngest and the only guy that isn't married and/or has kids. I had to be on my best behavior but we all shared a few laughs...it was an okay time. I'm not that wild of a person to begin with. I drink mostly to calm my nerves when I'm around a large group of people.
Shoalzie wrote:I drink mostly to calm my nerves when I'm around a large group of people.
You must really get fucked up when you go to Wings games.

Not when I've got to drive 2-1/2 hours to get home. I usually have a beer before I take my seat prior to the start of the game and then I get a drink after the first intermission. I'm no lush...I'll have my moments though.

backbiting mooks?!?!? Try the caps may be a serious contender in 3 or 4 years (36-48 months) if Ovechkin doesn't go russkie on them and break the bank before demanding a trade to Florida.
The Rat Pack wrote:

Wings don't need picks. Without a doubt the best talent scouts in the league without having a top 20 pickin over a decade (see Datsyuk and Zetterberg)
I like the venom though. More of that and less witches from the sticks makes this a better place.
The Wings' first round picks have not panned out. Fischer was probably their best first rounder in the last handful of years but his career is in doubt. Niklas Kronwall hopefully will become a top 4 defenseman but he's yet to play a full season in the league. Since 1992, the only time the Wings have had a pick in the top 20 of the first round was this past year with Jakub Kindl at 19 but that was because of the lottery. 6 of the last 9 drafts, the Wings didn't even have a first round pick. They've done well with what few picks they hang onto. I don't mind the European talent but they lack a rugid North American player. Their best North American prospect is Jimmy Howard, a goalie. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Fischer, Franzen, Hudler, Grigorenko, Filppula, Kindl, Kopecky, Bykov...all European. Don't mean to go on a Don Cherry-like rant but the Wings don't have a Nash, Crosby, Heatley, Thornton, Marleau or Iginla of their own. Jason Williams is showing promise and Shanahan doesn't have many years left in the league. If the game will remain wide-open, they should do well with the European talent but they'll get their brains kicked in by a physical team that can skate.

How did I miss this nugget? Rat, I'm sure you realize that 1st place in the AHL is absolutely meaningless. The Pirates won the Cup their first year in the AHL and that certainly didn't pan out to anything for the Caps (they were the Caps farm team until last year). 1st place in the AHL and almost last in the NHL means that there isn't much difference between your two teams. At least you've got the best AHL talent that money can buy.

And whatever happened to Maxime Oulette? Wasn't he the next coming of Ken Dryden and Pelle Lindberg? What did they do trade him for a bag of pucks?

Sure, maniac. It's a guarantee that if they were in the cellar...you'd be all over me about it. So spare us the banal musings about the AHL. I'm proud of the boys. They're playing good. 3rd best offense/3rd best defense. How's Providence? Oh that's right...they're vanilla. Much like the Bruins. Not a real youth movement going on there.
I think a lot of people tend to forget that I stated in the 1st page... I had zero expectations from the caps. It was all about the young'uns......the salary cap......and the MAN (ATG). Who will probably put on a clinic in the All-Star competitions. Talk about must see T.V. We're talking about Vince Carter All Star dunk contest like.
I am optimistic. At least I see a light at the end of the tunnel. Leaffan, Bluesfan... and many other fan, would kill to have a GM who has stocked the farm. How does the Bruins future look, maniac? I'm looking at the next 12-18-24 months.
As for Maxime O..
I would assume that Maxime Daigneault is now the future star. When the caps picked up Mike Johnson I was fairly happy about it.. We've talked about the Caps goalie glut in past years.
I think the Caps made Bobby Clarke look like an idiot, by fleecing them of Max, who was their top prospect at the time.....plus three high picks for Adam Oates! Maybe the Canucks made the Caps look foolish, giving up someone with such a high upside for such a small return. Time will tell on that one. Ponderous...but the boys in the system are damn good.
I hope Max is what the Canucks need. He'll definitely be in the mix very soon. Maybe even tonight. I'm sure he's backing up Auld.
..and scarecrow... Stop with the 'advantage' stuff. That's so weak.
Pierre McGuire: "The Washington Capitals are the sleeping giants of the East. Exciting times in Washington are coming."
I know what you said about the Caps right off the bat. I'm not disputing that. I just pointed out that crowing about your AHL team being in first place is ridiculous. It doesn't mean jack. You bring up the Bruins, they aren't the subject of this thread. I never said anything about them. They suck, their GM sucks, their owner sucks, but they do have a few decent prospects in Providence and elsewhere. These guys could turn out to be decent players or they could turn out to be chumps. Just like your Caps prospects. I will give you the fact that the Caps are stocked with a good selection of young talent---but there's still a long way to go before they make the bigs and actually turn into good players. Being in 1st place in the AHL is meaningless.

They'll be improved in a year or two but not the best in the league. They could end up being a team like Nashville. Speedy, gritty, and some skill but they don't have their Tomas Vokoun though. They'd have to outwork teams to beat them.
I have goosebumps. I have chills. I have ATG fever.
Get this.. He has a 4 point night.....and then get the SO winner. The people of Atlanta, who were at the game, will be telling their grand children about the time they saw the MAN....and that MAN torched the city.
Come on..he's gonna be leading the league in points before the end of January.

If both Kovalchuk and Ovechkin stay put, the Caps and the Thrashers could develop a nice little rivalry...it's offense galore when those two meet up.

Three weeks vacation will do wonders for the soul & spirit. I feel like a strapping 20 year old young buck.
Oh my god.. I did so much swoop swoop, hot tubs, women and sampled the finest Quebec foods, drink and party favors. You should all get up there and see how it really is. Montreal is by far the best North American city.
While I was living the life of a Roman senator...it was nice seeing the Caps remain steady. ...and ATG did not let up. Was is he now.. 3rd in goals and tied for 5th in scoring? Not too shabby.
His goal on MLK jr Bday was possibly the finest goal ever scored and will live forever in the annals of hockey.
I see this board has been a nest of lazy posts and lethargy while I was gone. Good going, guys. Way to keep up your end.
Maniac & Otis, you'll be interested to know that I witnessed the collapse of the Liberal party in Canada. It all started going downhill on Dec. 27th. The media had a field day with the fallout of the TO gun battle. To say the Liberals are despised in Quebec is an understatement. The Bloq is starting to feel the Conservative pinch and they're going to lose seats to them.
The Conservative agenda is alive and well in Canada. Bank on that. Anyway, enough with hotstove politics..
I missed you all. <bigkisses>Muah Muah <bigkisses> ...and I missed you most of all, scarecrow.

I did spend a night at a chalet bar quaffing back quarts of 50. That was my slumming it night. But the bar was packed with teenies from Ontario & Vermont.
I'll be heading out to Banff for my '08 Christmas.

Welcome back Rat. Too bad about the Libs in Oh Canada but I really don't care too much, without hockey and fishing Canada would not occupy one iota of my thinking. Talk to me in the fall of this year when the corrupt Republican Party of the U.S. is swept out of power. Impeachment and the taking back of our democracy will be on the menu in '07.

I'm just sitting around watching this decent game between Toronto and the Cappies.
Belfour melted...he tried to fight ATG. No rookie is going to be stupid enough to tangle with the other teams goalie. Luckily, Kolzig came down the ice and straightened Belfour out. Let's be frank.. Olie could kick Eddie's ass.
Anyway, it's great seeing ATG rebound from his groiner. Too bad that Crosby went down with the "flu" at the exact same time.
Who was it in here that I was talking about Chris Clark with? He's having a career best season. It's great when a trade works out like that.
