Michigan rolls. They usually open up the playbook for these second rate bowls. I can't see the Huskers putting up more than 20 on the UM defense.

Unlike the season finale, the Badgers will get up for Alvarez's last dance. I'll take Wisconsin in a squeaker.

Gators will win in an exciting game. The "home field" will be enough for Urban and Leak to get it done.

Classic matchup. Don't overlook Weis in a game with so much prep time. Tressel is also good in big games. I like the Buckeyes here, too much overall defensive speed, and Troy Smith is on a roll.

A geezers delight. The AARP Bowl, brought to you by Depends. PSU is on the way up. They will be good for the forseable future. Despite upsetting VaTech (whom the own to the tune of 12 straight) FSU is in an offensive funk. Penn State is stout on defense and JoPa's youngins on offense can match FSU's speed. Take team Nittany in a low scoring defensive battle. Hope they get better half time entertainment that Ashley Simpson.

The only question mark is Minnesota. The Big Ten will be 6-1, pending Minnesota's opponent.

Edit Minnie gets UVA. Put it in the W column.

Pretty optimistic.....Auburn rolls Wisconsin. And, even though UCLA got embarrassed, I don't think NW is that good. Agree on UF over Iowa. That's three right there.

I don't see a major advantage on either side other than Steve Spurrier. He beat Florida, with time to prepare he should win here. South Carolina in a close one

This should be a good game. I'm not sure on the status of J. Russell, but LSU has been living on borrowed time all year, however Miami isn't Georgia. I'll still go with the hurricanes in a physical contest.

Cotton
Alabama v Texas Tech
The number 2 offense versus the number 2 defense...defense wins every time. Alabama is sullen over expectations, but should have enough fire to do away with an overhyped Red Raider squad.

Outback
Florida v Iowa
Florida is picking up steam. Iowa is a scrappy team, but I'll take the Gators in this one.

Capitol One
Auburn v Wisconsin
Auburn is a boulder rolling down hill right now. Wisconsin will arrive with a lot of emotion and Auburn will have to watch against letdown, but on paper this one shouldn't be close. Auburn up big.

Sugar
Georgia v West Virginia
This will be a better game than advertised, but UGA is playing good football right now and should win this.

SG: I agree that a great defense beats a great offense, however, I think TT outscores Bama, who has trouble scoring since the loss of prothro.

Our conference will win the national championship for the third time in three years and they'll also win the Heisman for the third time in four years.

Our second best team got screwed out of the BCS for the third time in four years so no soup for us there though...

But hey, WVA and FSU are going to the BCS!

Rose Bowl - Texas vs. USC: I've already given my prediction on this in another thread. USCs weapons will be too much for the Longhorns. USC 42, Texas 28.

Cotton Bowl - Texas Tech vs. Alabama: Tough one here. You never know which Tech team is going to show up. Leach had a poor record in bowls until last year's beatdown of Cal. Hodges is the weakest link in the recent chain of Tech QBs but I think he'll do enough to get the Red Raiders over. Texas Tech 28, Alabama 20.

Holiday Bowl - Oklahoma vs. Oregon: If Oregon had Clemens, they would be a sizable favorite. Oklahoma is playing it's best football of the year but is still young and prone to stupid mistakes. Chuck Long...well he's Chuck Long. I think this will live up to recent Holiday Bowls but I gotta go with the Ducks in a close one. Oregon 34, Oklahoma 28.

Alamo Bowl - Nebraska vs. Michigan: Damn, I wish Oklahoma was in this game. They might not win but they would certainly match up better than the Huskers. This one will be over by halftime. Michigan 44, Nebraska 10.

Independence Bowl - Missouri vs. South Carolina: Four words...Steve Spurrier Gary Pinkel. South Carolina 21, Missouri 13.

Houston Bowl - Iowa State vs. TCU: The Frogs are a letdown loss to SMU away from being 2005's whiny-bitch, undefeated mid-major team. Call it a hunch, but I think TCU lays an egg in this one. A four-pack of TCU turnovers leads to a Cyclone victory. ISU 20, TCU 17.

Champs Sports Bowl - Colorado vs. Clemson: Methinks the Buffs will be too busy pulling a Bevo-sized cock out of their collective asses to focus on this game. Tommy Bowden...meh. But Colorado can't wait to put this late season meltdown behind them. Clemson 26, Colorado 15.

Ft. Worth Bowl - Kansas vs. Houston: Jabba the Coach gets the Big 12 off to a solid start with a drubbing of Houston. Kansas 27, Houston 10.

Maybe.....but Richt gets a little conservative in big games like he always has.....I feel the score will be closer than most think. I know I said Auburn would roll UW and they will.

I don't give two shits about how the conference does. I'm a MichiganFan and a MichiganFan only. I hope every other team in the conference loses. I never root for a Big Ten team, unless they're playing State. Let the other fans get a boner over how their conference does. USC-Texas is the only important game over the next month.

Increased bowl appearances from a conference means increased revenue for your team. Even if you have no pride for the conference your team represents, it seems like you'd want your team to at least financially benefit from all this.

...also the more prestige your conference has, the better the in-conference wins look, which helps in these retarded computer polls and preseason polls, which can effect a team's BCS chances...so as much as I despise Bama, I hope they hand Texas Tech their heads.

Nebraska pole-vaulted themselves from Shreveport/Houston Bowl with a win over leg-pissing Colorado. All is right in Lincoln, Callahan: "genius", CU: Classless (minus Callahans repeated "diversions"). Husker Faithful: "We've turned the corner!"--(forget the KU game).

Colorado: freefall. Barney had a contract extension on the table before teh ISU game which he pushed off to up his bargaining power. And get's outscored 130-22 or some shit in his last 3 and now the AD is taking some time to think about it. no scenario seems good: Barney re-signed half-heartedly, Interim Coach, coaching search etc.

ISU: maybe bounce back from yet another choke job.

MU: great one day, sucks the rest of the week.

Michigan makes enough money, I'm fairly sure of that. Being the only school out of the conference to win a bowl game would be reward enough.

You know, I was thinking that AU will roll Wisconsin, but I'm not so sure. Looking at the stats, the offenses look like a wash. However, Auburn's came against an admittedly very tough set of defenses in the SEC. On the flip side, the Auburn defense looks superior to the UW defense, but that also came in the SEC with it's decidedly inferior offenses.

I think it will come down to turnovers and special teams and my heart says that the Badgers play strong and with a ton of heart for Barry and pull out the upset.

Simply put, there's more advantages than disadvantages for your team to be in a conference that remains strong (a lot of that having to do with what Buc said).
