Bettis is a warrior.
Bettis is a warrior.
They had a special on him yesterday on FOX I believe and they were showing how physically banged up he is after each week and how he sometimes doesnt feel totally fine until the following Sunday. The guy then goes out and rushed for 100 yards and a 2TD in the 2nd half. The guy probably cant get out of bed this morning and will probably practice w/ out pads all week. I think he is a great figure for the NFL to promote but I think he needs to hang it up after the season. He has all the money he needs, hes 5th all-time rushing and will go down as arguably the best back in Steelers history. I just dont want to see this guy 15 years from now in the same state as Earl Campbell. Same goes for Steve McNair and Eddie George.

It might already be too late. That being said, Bettis probably should have hung it up last year. He can still perform on a limited basis. But he's playing on borrowed time. That his line next week will likely read 6 carries 10 yards speaks volumes as to the toll the game is taking on The Bus.Cicero wrote:I just dont want to see this guy 15 years from now in the same state as Earl Campbell.
