We needed this guy and dammit....we got him.
With UF at the top of many lists this year has the chance to be teh best in school history. Percy is next.

The only thing funnier than UF taking stock in this Marinovich clone is that Mike Shula has been publicly ass-raped by a teenager.
Bama truly thought they had him...![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

was listening to Rivals radio this morning, and they said Shula was at his house for 13 hours yesterday! the inhouse guys said that was good, the guest mentioned that it was a bad sign. meant he was still begging and pleading to give Bama a shot.
they said several coaches have actually made families kick them out of the house before they would leave!

Marinovich? Zwick? Dougie Johnson?
Dude had not played a down and insults already thrown. He will have a year to sit and learn. I guess I would rather get the five star and take a chance on him then the 2 star guy that sucks.
Geez. No one is proven till they do it on the field. We got the guy we wanted all along.

FACT: Tebow is home-schooled.
INTERPRETATION: Parental programming a la Marinovich. Strike One.
FACT: Refused to indicate his preferences.
INTERPRETATION: Great negotiation tactic. I smell parental control again. Strike Two.
FACT: Called a press conference that was aired nationally by ESPN in order to announce his commitment.
INTERPRETATION: Prima donna on a stick. Strike Three. Gator Nation spends three years agonizing until Wonder Boy goes pro or crazy.

Tebow called the press conference...that is the issue.
You, G SEX, are one who made parental involvement an issue with the Portis transfer. Check your comments in that thread.
The eloquence of your reponses is only exceeded by your lottery-funded education(?).
If you are a UF grad, the chancellor should be sued for giving you a diploma.

Mustain isn't comming anywhere near ND unless Frazer or Jones backs off their commitment. And that is very unlikely to happen. Also, ND doesn't want to risk their recruitment of Jimmy Claussen next year.Vito Corleone wrote:Now the final question is where will Mitch Mustang end up now that he has brushed off the dust of Arkansas. That is where Texas is right now, they don't want to piss off Snead who only dropped Florida because they kept recruiting Tebow. Texas is in a really good position with Ryan Mallet right now for next season.Killian wrote:Mustain isn't comming anywhere near ND unless Frazer or Jones backs off their commitment. Have you heard anything solid about Mallet? My Michigan buddies are pinning their hopes on him after they missed out on all the big name QB's this year.Vito Corleone wrote:That is where Texas is right now, they don't want to piss off Snead who only dropped Florida because they kept recruiting Tebow. And Mustain will end up at Ark. or Tenn. My bet is Tenn. because of Cutcliffe.

Mallet has been to a couple of Texas games and he has been one of the most enthueastic supporters. Don't know what he has said specifically but he goes to Texas high which is probably the biggest pipeline to UT we have. I like our chances with him, but I also liked our chances with AD, Bomar, and a ton of other guys we have lost.Killian wrote:Have you heard anything solid about Mallet? And they're getting Harvin and McDaniel on Monday.

According to Warchant, Tebow tipped the scales and Percy and Daniels are both headed to Gainesville with their coach.Vito Corleone wrote:I have inside information and I can say with 100% accuracy that Harvin will not be a Longhorn.
Cicero, do you see why it is important for us to land such a dangerous offensive player? Now we will have to defend the mofo for four years...

What smells fishy? The fact that UF is kicking FSU's ass in recruiting, and getting a kid that was a life long Nole fan to commit to UF? Meyer is a hot name, and he got one of the top QB's in the country. WR's are going to flock there, at least this year and next. Don't be surprised to see Meyer clean up in recruiting this year or next year. He's the new hot name and he's selling all these skill position players on "I don't have the guys to run my system, look what I did at Utah, come play for me." That will work until he actually starts playing with his guys. If he succeeds, top skill position players will go there in droves. If he doesn't, they'll start to shy away. Until then, get used to this scene.Cicero wrote:UF has a sick class no doubt. Something smells fishy though.

He has a better class this year. FSU had a better class last year. I just dont like him. He seems like a sleezy salesman. I could have cared less if we got Harvin. I posted this earlier. We dont need him. We are stocked at WR. This year we focused on our lines. I just find it odd that Harvin/McDaniel still had scheduled visits planned and then all of a sudden Urban shows up in VA and 3 days later they cancel visits and commit.

Every one relax. FSU is going after posistions of need- Offensive and defensive lineman. Sure they are'nt as sexy as the skill positions but FSU is LOADED at everything but lineman.
Keep in mind that you can't judge how good a recruiting class is until 2-3 years down the road. Also keep in mind that recruiting and qualifying are 2 different matters.

Interesting read from ESPN:
From ESPN Insider, Bruce Feldman's blog:
Urban Legend? Urban Myth.
posted: Tuesday, December 20, 2005 | Feedback
Interesting take that Carter from Atlanta sent in about the mysterious perception that Florida is some kind of offensive juggernaut while Florida State is a dilapidated, run-down has-been -- and high-profile recruits seem to be buying into it. As you've surely heard, UF on Monday got verbals from the two top wideouts in the country, Percy Harvin and Damon McDaniel, and the Gators landed QB Tim Tebow a week before.
Harvin, as Carter pointed out, grew up a Florida State fan and was allegedly leaning toward FSU last summer. So why are some kids buying into the "Urban Myth" when the 'Noles rank first in passing and second in scoring in the ACC? Meanwhile, Florida -- playing with a three-year starting QB (Chris Leak) who many recruiting services touted as the nation's No. 1 prospect -- generated 222 passing yards per game this season, 62 fewer than FSU (284.7), and the 'Noles had a rookie starter. Plus, this year's Gators scored fewer points under first-year coach Urban Meyer than Zooker's offense scored last year with virtually the same cast.
Good question.
"This is all because the media has completely got sucked in by Urban Meyer, even though his vaunted spread option, which by the way ain't that revolutionary (see: West Virginia) completely tanked in the SEC this year," Carter writes.
Fair points, although it's worth mentioning that Meyer's system has made dramatic improvements in Year II at his previous stops, which of course, um, weren't in the SEC, either. And maybe talent does have something to do with it. Not to say Chris Leak isn't a good QB, but clearly the preseason talk about how he is such a good fit for Meyer's system wasn't right on. In my eyes, the bigger issue with UF right now is the O-line isn't very good, and the Gators are going to lose the one really good lineman they had (senior center Mike Degory).
To me, the real issue for FSU fans here, though, isn't Urban Meyer, it's 'Noles offensive coordinator Jeff Bowden. I think he scares the crap out of recruits these days. Heck, Chris Rix's own father essentially went public blaming him for turning Chris Rix into, well, Chris Rix. The embattled Bowden also takes a pounding on the FSU fan sites -- which doesn't help, admits one recruit I spoke with, because kids do want to see what the buzz about things is. And, turns out, it's even worse when the rival schools recruiting against FSU get involved.
"I'd bet every other recruit who is supposedly interested in FSU hears, 'Yeah, that is a great school. You know, they always have a top defense, and [defensive coordinator] Mickey Andrews is a heckuva coach, but honestly, do you really wanna play in Jeff Bowden's offense?'" says one rival coach. "You could see it in their faces, that they've heard that before a lot, and you know it bothers them."
One thing, though, for Carter and other FSU fans to keep in mind: The 'Noles are notorious for their ability to finish strong on Signing Day. I do think this year might be their biggest challenge yet, especially if they lose to Penn State in the Orange Bowl and end up with five losses, but let's wait and see before we start eulogizing them.
