This Florida RB, and his highlight video, have been on the CF map since he was 15. I guess that attention hasn't been the most positive thing for him...
The North Fort Myers High junior football player is loaded with talent, yet his off-the-field life is one big fumble. He has two out-of-wedlock kids with different mothers. When Deion Sanders took him to Texas for a fresh start, he swiped Deion's car, drove to the airport and flew back.
BTW, that's pretty harsh when a 17-year-old gets this kind of writeup, and a big picture of his mug in the paper/internet. Or is it?

From the clips, he looks super human. The competition he is playing against is pretty good. Deion and Javon Kearse have come from that area. He was supposed to play his up coming senior year in Texas, but dude wasnt going to have it. It probably would be the best thing for him although, if he has two kids, he needs to stick around and be a dad. That being said, I would say he goes to Miami. They are only 2 hours a way and I think he would be a good fit for them. FSU has too much of a log jam at RB as it is, and I am not so sure I want a guy w/ those kind of issues.

My bet is he goes the JUCO route and is never heard from again.

Tapes like that just don't impress me much any longer. I remember proudly posting Austin Scott's similar highlight vid a few years back, assuming foolishly that he would tear up the Big 10 as a true frosh in '03.
Everybody wants their kid to be the next Walter Payton or Barry Sanders. Tough to do that when your talent extends no further than the football field - and early hype doesn't help with that very much.

If you don't want that kind of pub, don't steal Deion's car. Even a 17 year old should know that if you jack a celebrity's ride, you will get lots of bad pub.

I remember hearing Tim Hardaway once saying that there was as much talent (players) outside the NBA as in the NBA. At the time I thought that was a pretty stupid statement. Since then I have seen more kids with unlimited talent go to waste because they couldn't handle the hype.
