Iraqi Election Results...
The coalition of religious Shiite parties that dominates the current government is expected to win the biggest portion of the 275 seats...
It's a little early to say, but....awww...what the hell....
Iran wins in a landslide.
All praise to Allah, and His most holy Prophet, Mohammed.

Re: Iraqi Election Results...
If the sunni's don't like the results of the election they can always challenge the voter eligibility of the Shiites.

the biggest voter turnout factor is that the majority of iraqis want the US out of there.

Oxford surveys say what?
]
And the occupation troops are unpopular (65% are opposed to them, though again with regional variations) with much greater favour being given to indigenous Iraqi security forces
Some 45% said the foreign troops should leave now or after the elections, with 31% saying they should stay until security is established.
I don't see anything wrong with "wanting the US out of there". That's a goal that everyone shares. The circumstances of the departure are being debated.Diogenes wrote:FTFY.Mister Bushice wrote:the majority of Democrats want the US out of there.

It's a good thing the Dems don't actually run anything then, right?mvscal wrote:Precisely. Though there really isn't any debate. Removing US-led forces from Iraq came second with 10%, while rebuilding the country's infrastructure was third.

Appearantly my point was a tad to subtle for you, namely that it is the Party of Petain who wants the U.S. out now, not the Iraqis.
They, like most Americans, want us to leave as soon as the ISF is fully prepared to do the job solo.

No, nobody who matters cares what, Luttwak, Posen or Noam Chomsky think about the situation anyway.

I want our troops out of there as soon as the job is done and not a moment sooner. The political left doesn't want to admit it but good things are happening in Iraq, the people are voting and insergents are not winning, they may kill the police but the people of Iraq are willing to stand up for their country. To abandon them before the job is done is akin to cowardice and a slap in the face for all who have died for this cause.
And it is not just Iraq but look at what is happening in Iran, they are having their own social revolution and just maybe they will become better world citizens.

Iran having the most "Anti-West representative" ever and their continual attempts to gain nuclear weapons, is your idea of change?Vito Corleone wrote: And it is not just Iraq but look at what is happening in Iran, they are having their own social revolution and just maybe they will become better world citizens.
That and threatning N. Korea and them announcing to us to fuck off they have nukes, is another accomplishment?
Is this BizzaroAmerica? cuz I want out. I didn't realize failures were accomplishments in this America.
Do me a favor and consider an attack on Saudia Arabia and them surrendering before they have to go to war and the US randomly bombing Iraq into submission and then threatning Iran with no lives loss and a strong enrollment in the military as being a failure.
Plus international support for gutting Saudia Arabia (the most powerful Middle Eastern country) to do our bidding.
Instead you get some shitty war that really doesn't have a clear outcome and Iran wants nukes, N. Korea has nukes and we have absolutely NO BASES in Saudia Arabia which was Osama Bin Ladens goal.
Check it up to San Diego over the Colts for falling asleep on a Sunday.
I mean, it was Saudia Arabia that killed 3,000 Americans that has me confused.
