the JUCO QB Hilzle will be interesting among existing verbals to see if he follows Long. I don't do the premium info stuff--but i assume Long was his principle recruiter.
I also assume it will be Wilson to OC--and, it will be interesting to see what there is to the message board hubbub about the increasing influence of Wilson and Sumlin in game-planning and play-calling. Unless Stoops goes outside....

Although I will miss his QB coaching I say good riddance to his philosophy.

you mean you guys didn't like that quote from one of USC's D coaches last year to the effect that: "by the end of the first quarter we pretty much knew every play they were going to run by the formation".
might have even been a SC linebacker.
regardless it was an observation my father made the year before at the Sugar Bowl in 2003....generally followed by "GAWD-dammit CHUCK, run the ball of the gawdawmed !*$^@&#^@*$% I."
it was kind of embarassing (though i don't know why since that's the way he was at games when i was a kid)...but as OU's last two drives unfolded....turns out he was right.

Congrats to the sooner fans, I know you've been wanting this.
Outside of the JUCO qb I can't really see losing anyone else to SDSU. That guy would be jumping into a start-now situation which is appealing to a guy with less time left.
It will be interesting to see whether Stoops just promotes Wilson or looks outside the program for the new OC.

Skull I had to prevent my father from getting into atleast 5 different altercations this season alone. One with a TCU guy in the seats behind us comes to mind most vividly. I luckily did not have to say but one thing that day. We have been in the same seats with the same people for years now and an older gentlemen warned the fat TCU fan off that is 6 inches and 100 lbs. probably wouldn't mean much to my father who is a former 2 time national champion in his weight class in wrestling and wa a special Ops officer in army for over a decade. TCU fan was pretty damn quiet the rest of the game.the_ouskull wrote:You guys are talking about how bad your dads are... You should hear my mom. If the Choctaw County phone book was big enough, there'd be some people laid out down there as well.

Skull: very nice.
SCS: My dad is more of a paradox so ain't gonna lay 10k i don't have to lose....yet comprendo, he was an Army Ranger but is also a corporate guy now---so there's the "the quickest way to solve this problem is for me to kick your ass" thing going and a we're here on Nokia's tab decorum thing all at the same time.
basketball games are where he really shines. he sits close enough to the court at LNC where i'm sure he thinks the "ref" is hearing him.
