San Diego has a chance ... as long as Peyton's A-Game doesn't show up.

Short changing the Chargers while your own squad can't even beat Peyton's lil' sister Orc?

I sense bad karma for your griefs next week at the hands of YOUR Chargers bud.

With that shitty defense no way in hell would the Griefs have a chance Vs the Colts on the road or at home.

I also don't see the Colts running the table, they'll lose in the regular season, if not....in the playoffs.

Very fitting for Peyton and the Colts. Perfect during the regular season, losing in the playoffs and still having the "Peyton can't win the big game" monkey on their backs next year.

Sorry Charger Mike, but I'm rooting on the Colts. I want them to go undefeated. If I hear an more about the 72 dolphins waiting to pop their champagne I'm gonna barf.

I'm glad the Colts are playing their starters today. It should be a good measure of where the Bolts are at this point in the season.

Hats off to The Chargers...they did JUST enough to win.

Mr Turner provided the spark that we usually enjoy, when Edge needs a blo on the sidelines (with Rhodes). I said LT would have a good day, but hell, that 83 yard scamper just about pulled him even with LT for the day, didn't it?

The Colts played uninspired, lackluster, bullshit football....WTF??? The only one who seemed to give a shit today was Manning, and he floated up enough wounded ducks to negate his "inspired" play.

I think what pissed me off the most, was the blown coverages in the secondary. That, for me anyway, proved that lack of focus for today's game. Hell, I dozed off thru much of the 3rd quarter (thanks nasal decongestant), and still saw Jason David/Bob Sanders get burned 3 or 4 times deep.

I also think that they didn't "try" Edge enough. Maybe it was the "afraid of injury" thing, maybe not. But knowing that the SD rushing defense was so good, they should have at least feigned like they were going to try to run a little, to open up the passing game. Once the offense became one dimensional, then it was just time for the DBs to sit back and lick their chops. The Bolts pass rush was top notch as well, and that kept Manning guessing all game.

All in all, a piss poor game by the Colts, and one deserving of all the crap we heard this week about them not being as good as people were touting them to be.
As far as the Bolts go, Drew had an OK game; good and bad. Strong Rushing performances by LT & Turner. Gates was pretty effective too.
I'd give games balls to the SD pass rush, if I had to pick the stars of the game.

I just hope that Howard (Mudd, the O-Line coach) figures this shit out, and finds a way to keep Peyton protected the next couple weeks. hell, the pass protection was supposed to be a strong suit.

No shower curtain rods in my future here, but damn, that was UGLY. I said 2-3 weeks ago, that I'd like to see them lose one, to bring them back to reality, but today was just plain demoralizing. Maybe Poptart was right. :meds:

Actually they did plenty to win.

Brees had a decent game...EXCEPT for the three horrendous turnovers. The first int led directly to a Colts TD. The fumble led to an almost immediate TD. The second int took a possible TD away from the Bolts.

Besides those three turnovers the Bolts completely outplayed the Colts. The whole Chargers D deserves a game ball. They completely snuffed James - 25 yards on 13 carries? When was the last time he had a game like that. Sure, Peyton ended up with lots of yards, but he was pressured all game and threw a couple of picks too.

I was very impressed by the nads that Manning showed, though. Some of those passes he threw under intense pressure were incredible. Every time they knocked him down, and he took some heavy hits, he got back up like nothing happened.

If the Chargers had lost you could have blamed it 100% on Brees and his miscues. The rest of the team, and especially the D (though I still think Jammer is one of the worst corners in the league), came through big time. That run by Michael Turner saved Brees' ass.

Mikey,
My comment about doing"just enough to win" was a poor reference to the 3 turnovers, in crucial situations. I guess in my disgust at the outcome of the game, I didn't give proper credit where it was due.

I'll have to agree with you on Jammer. (I try to watch when I can, with Brees being a Purdue Alumni) Every game I've watched him play in, he gets several "Illegal contact" or outright pass interference calls; let alone getting beat on deep routes. I guess I stand corrected, as I generalized the D-backs play, focusing on Jammer (mainly 'cause he was covering Harrison all afternoon).

The three turnovers just furthers my point about not having their collective heads in the game. If I had told you before hand, that SD would have turned it over in the red zone like that, and that Peyton would throw for over 300 yrds; it would have been normal to think that the Colts would have blown them out. No other way to say it; they played like shit, and San Diego came ready to play.

Let's hope that they take this as a learning experience, and do something with it.
