The Pac 10 will represent very well post New Year's Day as well..

Well, specifically, at least they will on January 4th.

With a bowl lineup of such heavies as:
BYU (6-5, unranked)
Rutgers (7-4, unranked)
Oklahoma (7-4, unranked)
Northwestern (7-4, unranked)
...and the lone ranked opponent among them, Texas...

Color me unimpressed yet another year with the PAC 1

Buc, you can't have it both ways. If you're going to talk about Bowl Records being the big conference strength barometer then you can't selectively pick and choose the bowl games when it suits you.

I gurantee you fans of other conferences could historically look at the bowl opponents of any conference and deride 'em.

Basically, with you, no matter what they do, the Pac 10 can't win. So, there's just no point. Stick to your hugely overhyped and overrated conference and stick to never playing anybody anywhere except each other in a bunch of artificially important "big games" and as long as Georgia continues to never leave the South we'll all be the happier for it...

How did the Pac 10 do last year in the bowls?

I remember UCLA losing to Wyoming, USC beating OU, and Kal losing to Taco Tech. What did the rest do?

Believe it or not, Tennessee is stepping up to the plate.

Home-and-home with Oregon.

That's right -- an SEC team is going to play a road game against a team that people have actually heard of.

Sure, their claims of being the greatest-conference-because-we-say-so are about to come crashing down around them, but at least the fans of the 5 Real Conferences won't be laughing at them as much.

PSSST!

Hate to break it to you SEC Homer, but Yale has won more football championships than your entire conference. And in about a week or so, USC will have won as many titles as your entire conference.

Is this the point where you claim that "that was in the past, I'm talking about the present?"

Because if that was to be your next response, you DO realize that Oregon finished ahead of the entire SEC this season, right? So if Oregon or their fans are irrelevant, what does that make the SEC, exactly... Double-irrelevant?

We got first...

Cal's first game of the season next year is at Neyland. After we punch the shit outta them... they may cancel the Oregon game and throw up the White Flag like the South is genetically prone to do...

Our next game right after that is against a Big 11 school... Minnesota

Yours too...nearly a century ago.

Edit: Also bullshit...not suprised. See link below.
And in about a week or so, USC will have won as many titles as your entire conference.
link?

Edit: Here ya go, Dimmy.
http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/na ... s_team.php

Note, Alabama alone currently has more MNC claims than USC.

Is this the point where you claim that "that was in the past, I'm talking about the present?"
Actually, this is the point where I point out there are several pre-schools possessing more football savy than you, Mr. 'dale.
Because if that was to be your next response, you DO realize that Oregon finished ahead of the entire SEC this season, right? So if Oregon or their fans are irrelevant, what does that make the SEC, exactly... Double-irrelevant?
You also realize that there is a reason Oregon got buttfucked to the Holiday bowl while most SEC squads are getting the big payouts? Have you looked at your schedule lately? Ask Cal about it.

Hey, lets give the SEC some credit. Tennessee isn't the only SEC team to go out of conference on the road against a good team (and of course get their asses kicked), oh no.

Auburn and Arkansas both recently tried it too. They got their asses kicked too of course, but hey, lets at least try to give credit where credit is due.

Now, as for Georgia...and 'Bama...and...

I think 'Bama still hasn't recovered from Sam Cunningham paying 'em a visit to their house.

Georgia took that hint and long ago simply threw up their hands and said, "Fuck it. 'Necks. 'Necks, and only 'Necks, that's all we'll allow ourselves to play. We....ain't....puttin'...no...miles...on...our....motor...homes!! Got it, son? If your tail gaiters ain't flyin' the Stars & Bars on their pick 'em up trucks, goddammit, we ain't playin' you!"

I assume you're talking about a major conference opponent and not bowl season? If you include bowls (road OOC games), Auburn has beaten Va Tech, Penn State and Wisconsin in recent memory. If those don't qualify in your very PACish delusional sort of logic, I guess I can't provide you with one. Let me ask you this, when was the last time USC played in a conference not filled half if not more with losing records? Shitty defenses? The OOC argument is weak, but it's all you've got...I get that.

it's delusional to think that Bowl games are considered road games, especially when the team you are playing travels at least twice as far as you do to get to the game, but I see you working. You dont want to admit how long it has been since Allbarn has won a real out of conference game on the road, in another schools home stadium, or is it that its just been so long you actually dont beleive it yourself?

Like I said, old argument. Auburn plays more top ranked opponents per year than any team the PAC can boast, save perhaps USC of late. That PACies love to interject the OOC argument only means their in-conference schedule is so laughable year in and year out it's their only avenue. Irony, once again, that mtool is bragging on the weakest bowl lineup of any major conference. If the PAC loses any of those, save Texas, they should be seriously ashamed. I suspect they will be.

I won't go so far as to call the SEC "inferior" but they're definitely very overrated. Year in, year out they build their reputation based solely on beating each other. Because the SEC is so overhyped this means they're beating teams with articifically high rankings and the rankings argument is Buc's entire argument...

The fact that Oregon is ranked higher than anybody in the SEC? It's their schedule. Never mind LSU's, Georgia's or 'Bama's schedule, none of which amount to a warm bucket of spit once you remove the rose colored SEC glasses and look at who they really beat.

The fact that UCLA would score 45 on anybody in the SEC, since nobody in the SEC has enough offense to get UCLA's offense off the field long enough to match scores with 'em?

They won't hear it. Not possible. LSU-'Bama played in a titanic 13-10 defensive struggle!

SEC teams get high rankings and high bowl seedings and it's entirely based on this laughable notion that beating MSU, 'Bama and Georgia is SOOOOO much more difficult than beating Penn State, Wisconsin and Northwestern in the Big 10 or Oregon, UCLA and ASU in the Pac 10.

Doesn't seem to matter what year it is either. If Alabama sucks and Ron Zook is leading Florida nowhere they still get articifially high rankings. Then, teams in the SEC get all sorts of bonus points and higher rankings merely by loading up on a strict diet of Ron Zook, 'Bama, Kentucky and MSU, plus an OOC schedule that consists solely of home games against Georgia Southern, Appalachian State, North Texas and Louisiana Lafayette...

Where the SEC is concerned the truth of the phrase "perception is reality" is driven home harder and harder every fucking season. These guys simply live off their own hype. They consider it gospel that they're the absolute shit, regardless. If they win, they're awesome. If they lose it's only because their fellow SEC slug who beat 'em is even more awesome.

They won't let any other conference make any similar arguments. The notion that maybe the reason they lost was due to the simple fact that their pathetically punchless team managed to score even fewer points than the slightly less pathetically punchless team that beat 'em never seems to cross their "mind".

Nope, it's just "incredible defense", even when they're faced with the notion of an Arkansas team giving up 70 to USC while holding most everybody down in the SEC....or an LSU team giving up seventeen hundred yards to a middle of the pack Pac 10 team...or a Tennessee team having to invoke The Mercy Rule in South Bend...or an Auburn team getting shut out at home by USC, even though the same basic cast of Auburn characters managed to come back and run the table once there was no USC in the way to expose 'em.

But wait! Georgia did manage to defeat Georgia A&M, between The Hedges, of course...

There's always the same excuses and it always comes back to the same argument: We're good, because we have high rankings. We have high rankings because the fellow SEC teams we beat have high rankings. The fellow SEC teams we beat have high rankings because....well, just because!! They play in the SEC, okay???

They're provincial as all get out, so many of these SEC guys. The myopia is never ending...

Van, you PACies love to run this and then LSU goes on the road and whacks ASU. Florida beats the dogshit out of FSU. You see, the real difference between the PAC and the SEC, regardless of how you want to spin it, is that the SEC plays a conference schedule full of top teams every year while the PAC plays a conference stuffed with slaps. The SEC has had four different teams win an MNC since the last time any PAC team not named USC won one. Inferior? The top 25 every single year will continue to laugh at that notion.

What's laughable are the two sides of your mouth you're talking out of. In this thread, the SEC is a powerhouse conference (that never leaves the south, and sorry LSU didn't whack ASU), and yet in another thread you pound your chest and say the media polls are bogus and that former MNCs are just pollster contests.

It's remarkable how you can't see that these two concepts are fully-integrated, unlike that mouth-breathing region of the country you live in.

It must suck that Allbarn hasn't ever won dick...

Only to an amoeba like you, meds. The "national championship" is bogus. The BCS is bogus. Who the top teams are pretty much spell themselves regardless of poll, and the SEC makes up a reliable large share of them. Whacked?

They got outplayed, they gave up 570 yards and they should've lost were it not for flukey special teams errors.
Florida beats the dogshit out of FSU.
Florida? FSU?

:meds:
You see, the real difference between the PAC and the SEC, regardless of how you want to spin it, is that the SEC plays a conference schedule full of top teams every year
Hardly. The SEC has NO top teams this year and most years they have a bunch of overrated teams that never beat anybody but each other.
while the PAC plays a conference stuffed with slaps.
Sincerely,
Vanderbilt, Kentucky, MSU, Ole Miss and nearly the entire OOC schedule of the SEC.
The SEC has had four different teams win an MNC since the last time any PAC team not named USC won one. Inferior?
Again, I never called 'em inferior. Overrated, yes. Inferior, no.
The top 25 every single year will continue to laugh at that notion.
Now, will YOU continue to laugh at the Top 25 every year, considering how much derision you heap on it (when it suits you to do so) due to the weight it places on pre season rankings that make it hard to climb during the season...

You know, those Top 25 rankings you always (correctly, I might add) say are total horsehit...

Buc, of course Auburn packs their field. Wal-Marts aren't open in Alabama during Fall Saturdays...

Meanwhile USC plays in one of the most celebrated stadiums in America, home to multiple Olympics, national championships and the first Super Bowl.

Jordan-Hare? Other than hosting USC's coming out party two seasons ago along with too many asskickings by 'Bama to recount, exactly when has J-H ever been worth remembering? That is, not counting all the 'Necks who hold a fond place in their hearts for the very place beneath the stands when the Boones Farm took hold and the tube tops went a flyin' and their parents (aunts and uncles) created 'em....

We've accomplished more in two seasons than Allbarn has all-time. If attendance smack is all you've got for this discussion then do us all a favor and just admit that that Allbarn is:

1. Irrelevant
2. Hasn't won anything
3. Is jealous of teams like USC
4. Probably won't amount to dick anytime soon

Yeah, they did it this year and last with Notre Dame. Arkansas and Auburn did it with USC. What was your point?
According to Dins, we're not a real college football team because we don't play in a conference.

Meds, I could honestly be posting up emoticons and leaving more thoughtful matter in my wake than what you're generally capable of.
Interesting that when it comes to conference prophecies, the media is well-informed. Naturally, when it comes to titles they are idiots and don't know jack.
I see you are still having difficulty with poll titles versus actual results. Not suprising...most SC fans do.
See if you can guess where this picture was taken. Hint: it was taken in the state of Alabama.

Hilarious, Bama fan. Actually, Auburn has one of your MNCs...more than the bulk of the PAC combined.
And spare me the locker room commentary while you're at it, never-been. You've never won a damn thing and you whine like some of the bitches I used to kick out of bed in college.
[LSU]Whining? From SC fan? [/LSU] The only thing you likely ever "kicked" out of bed in college was the used condom your boyfriend left lying on your forehead from the night before.
Get used to being the Buffalo Bills of college football. Oops my bad not a good analogy...you never made it to the big game
Big game...how clearly I recall SC fan screaming like a jilted three year old when LSU brought home the trophy from their own "big game".
If I was even half as cunty as you on these boards, I would hope 88 would ban me on principal. But hey, if you can't carry yourself like a man that's your problem not mine.
Ban? I know you T1B peeps love to go to that one, but it's not like you haven't been handed your ass enough times before...I doubt 88 notices it much more than breathing.
We've accomplished more in two seasons than Allbarn has all-time. If attendance smack is all you've got for this discussion then do us all a favor and just admit that that Allbarn is:

1. Irrelevant
2. Hasn't won anything
3. Is jealous of teams like USC
4. Probably won't amount to dick anytime soon
Actually, I'm very glad we're not SC. For all your championships, no one gives a fuck about SC when they aren't on top. Their fans are the worst kind of bandwagon I've seen since the Dallas Cowboys. They play in one of the least physical and boring to watch football conferences in America. They call a crumbling dump home. If I were going to be jealous of tropies, meds, I'm sure nearby Bama would bother me a lot worse than SC...they have all the titles, and their fans don't go skittering back to their holes the second a few losses dot the spreadsheet.
You're a bigger idiot than the SC morons on the homer Trojan sites. This, of course, is a very diplomatic way of saying that you're an uninformed, gonadically-hitched non-thinker who drinks far too much kool aid.
Dude, you post the same arrogant shit with about the same vaccuous essence. You could probably be a feature poster over there. What happened? Did it end in tears?
