Man I just don't know what to say. I would go off but I don't want to say anything I will regret tomarrow morning; especially if it is Jack talking and not myself.Believe the Heupel wrote:It'd be nice if OU could figure out how to defend at some point this year.
That is all.
I am just really dismayed right now. I would like one team in the athletic deptment to perform up to their abilities this year. At this point I just haven't seen any of them do it.
Bob, Kelvin, and Sherri are all good coaches and they all have great talent but none of them have been able to get this talent to perform this year. Is God punishing us for being so damn spoiled the last couple of years?
This is a basketball board so I will try and keep this on track...
I know Kelvin's cornerstone has been vast improvements in late January through Febuary each season but so has his defenses and so far I just have not seen much defense out of this squad.
Austin Johnson does not need to be getting and is not deserving of the minutes, especially injured, that he is receiving. I don't see how anyone can argue other wise. I hyped AJ and even said he would likely be our starting PG by late January. I can admit when I am wrong and I think I was wrong. :( It's not often you can pull those words out of my mouth/fingers so bookmark this page if you must.
We are in dire need for an effective true point guard and a real to life shooter who can hit a shot consitantly. With a real PG Taj would likely have had 45+ points tonight. He got about 20 points in trash baskets this evenning and was on fire on the boards. The offense seems to just stand still without the ball and the defense just has not been effective.
Taylor Griffen is frigging stud but short of playing three forwards all power fowards at the college level I don't see how we can get him any more minutes as Bookout and Taj about the only effective compenents of the offense to date.
This is not the same Terrel this season that we saw last season. What happened to his penetration skills? We saw flashes of it in the second half but nothing like he was able to perform last season. He is not a frigging point guard. Unfortunatly no one else on this team seems to be either. We backed off Jamal Brown and he lit up the nets tonight as a poke. We laid off Tayborn because of his baggage and he has been the only bright spot on a dismall Kansas State squad. And for what? In favor of a kid (Walker) who coulodn't find his ass with a flashlight and a map. I would rather see little Sampson on the floor than he. Hell I would like to see Kellen get sopme minutes period. I don't think Kelvin will ever have the stones to do it for fear of the word nepotism though. He can't be any worse at the point than Walker. I think that I or ou_skull could run the point as effective as he has to date.
What happened to the great guards that Kelvin said he has to continue to bring in to be successful?
I guess I did go off.
