Dude should have stayed in school, this would've been his senior year if I'm not mistaken. A sad story really.

Un. Fucking. Believable.
If it weren't so sad, it would be funny -- Maurice Clarett robs somebody in Columbus, Ohio..... without a mask.
Did he seriously think he wouldn't be recogized?
This is so bizarre. It's almost as if he intentionally tries to steal the headlines before every bowl game. I can't remember anything off the top of my head before the KSU game in '03, but certainly in '02, '04 and now '05.... this guy is a real fucknut.
Yes, this would've been his senior year. It's scary what this team could've accomplished if Maurice had a good head on his shoulders.

Warrant issued for Clarett’s arrest
The Columbus Dispatch
Sunday, January 1, 2006 3:33 PM
Former Ohio State football star Maurice Clarett is a wanted man today.
Columbus Police accused Clarett, 22, of showing a gun and robbing two people very early this morning outside of a S. High Street bar, the Opium Lounge. The victims, who were unharmed, told police that a cell phone was stolen.
Clarett is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Just after the robbery at 1:46 a.m., the police report said, the nightclub's owner came out the back door and recognized Clarett.
"He hugged her and began dragging her down the alley toward the vehicle he fled in," the report said.
Clarett let go of the woman and then left with another man in a white SUV, the police report said.
Police Sgt. Shaun K. Laird said the nightclub owner knows Clarett and that the victims each picked his picture out of a photo lineup.
Police urged Clarett to turn himself in and tell his side of the story.
Clarett, who scored the winning touchdown in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl in which Ohio State won the 2002 national championship, hasn't played football since that season. NCAA violations kept him out of the 2003 season. Though the Denver Broncos drafted him this year, he was cut from the team this summer.
OSU football coach Jim Tressel, in Tempe, Ariz., where the Buckeyes will compete in the Fiesta Bowl again tomorrow, told The Dispatch that he has talked with Clarett recently and that he hoped the latest allegations against him are not true.
"My hope was that he would have the opportunity to go over to NFL Europe and make a comeback and play the game he loves," Tressel said. "I think any young person who has made mistakes, they're always anxious to make their mistakes right."

Is he on probation from his earlier trouble? If so he'll do some time.

There are a few areas of the city you wouldn't want to be after dark, but not miles and miles of them like Cleveland, Detroit, Newark, etc. Shit happens.Jimmy Medalions wrote:Serious question: is Columbus considered a rough area? Is getting mugged totally unheard of there?
Btw, Mr2Cents's (?) "Claretts" breath mints fark was the best from the Clarett combine thread.
