Did Leinart crap out?
By coming back, I mean. It obviously worked out well from a college standpoint, but with the Saints picking second, he may be completely screwed. If he gets drafted by the Saints, his career is shit from the get go. He'll start a career with a team that is in limbo as far as where their permanent home will be. They will not be able to attract free agents, and the team they have blows.
And, on top of everthing else, he'll get less money than he would have gotten last year as the number one.
It's cool that he wanted to finish his college career, but that decision more or less bit him in the ass. Unless of course the Saints do him a favor and don't draft him or trade the pick.

Hardwork is damn near as overrated as monogamy.
He probably would've gone to San Francisco had he gone in last year. The one drawback of being in the top handful of NFL prospects is that you're going to be on a bad team...unless the pick was traded to a winner and by chance you end up on a playoff team. The Saints aren't an attractive franchise right now with instability of Tom Benson but it seems like they are going to stay in New Orleans. Leinart wasn't going to luck out like Roethlisberger was and end up with team that was on the cusp of making the playoffs and he ends up having a magical rookie season. He's going to have to take his lumps like Carson Palmer did...could he end up sitting for a season in New Orleans behind Aaron Brooks or could he come right in and be the guy from day 1? He's not one of the most physically gifted QBs to enter the NFL but he's got the intangibles that a guy like Tom Brady has had to very success.
It's a given that he would have gone to a bad team whenever he came out, I just think the extra issues involving the Saints on top of being bad make it a much more unlucky situation for him. But, it was all luck, he would have had no way of anticipating any of this obviously. I still have to believe (unless the Saints trade the pick or don't take him) that he would have been better off in the long run coming out last year. But, that is the roll of the dice I guess.

The draft should be illegal, howd you like to go to college and excell at what you do only to be forced to go to a city you dont want to go to for the majority of your career after college? How many Med Students are getting out of Michigan's or USC's school of medicine and are going to be forced to spend the majority of their professional lives practicing in a place like Arkansas or Missouri?
When there is a salary cap, there is no need for a draft
College football is better than pro football cause the guys are playing for teams they picked, not teams that picked them

He probably wasn't going #1 last year, it was checked into. Carroll told him he should jump if he was a certain top3 draft-pick and he wasn't.
Since he already knows the offense the Titans would be a very good fit for him if they can move up without giving up too much. Since the Titans pick is early as well they shouldnt' have to add anything ridiculous.
