Nice job all. I really appreciate all of you that finished out the season. I had a great time running the contest, hope I did a quality job in the eyes of most, and that all of you and a whole lot more will be playing the confidence pickem again next season....... That said though ............ while I do plan on running the contest again next season, I will not be running it here.

While I have stated it in the past, I do enjoy running the contest. After setting up the works program, I only spend about 30-45 minutes a week, which is not really a big deal. However ............ its a total fucking waste of mine, or anyone elses time for that matter, when it can all be done by Yahoo.

In all actuality, if I had agreed to run the confidence contest earlier in the year it would have been on Yahoo this season. However I took the reigns from poptart late, and completely dropped the regular pickem, after being assured by Orc and Shoalzie, that they could devise a program that would be a good solution. While not everyone will agree, most are of the opinion that it sucked ass. Count me in the majority on that one. By far the worst contest I have ever been in.

Im not saying any of this to discredit Orc, nor Shoalzie. Orc has added some great toys to the boards over the years, this just was not one. Shoalzie has run some damn fine contests in the past, but I guess dude got busy and didnt have the time required to do a quality job. Whatever! The season is over. Whats done is done.

The only reason Im posting any of this, is we still have a few hard heads, that for whatever reason, refuse to join Yahoo, and let them do all the work. YOU HARD HEADS, I hope I will see you next season in the contest over at Yahoo along with the rest of us. If not, then oh well. Keep posting your scores here, and hopefully someone will count them up for you.

Im off my pulpit for now. Ive said my peace. Thanks to everyone for playing, and as always, good luck again next season. Oh and good luck in the playoff pickem.

Congrats RSoxFan, it was a well earned victory. I thought I had a shot when both Baltimore and Buffalo were up late in week 17, but it wasn't meant to be. Props again for the championship.

Props to kcdave too for running this thing and being on the ball with updates and standings.

Major props Rsox, you kicked my ass. Now who's your bookie? I'm of the opinion that anyone who finished in the top 5 has to have a bookie of some sort??

Oh well, you rocked me like a hurricane.

Dave Dave Dave, your persistency continues to amaze me. As always, you did a fine yob. I'll get off my rocker and get into yours next year.

Piece out!

BD, thank ya much. I hope others will follow your lead.

I did forget to mention a few things last night though that deserve mention. Follow me down memory lane if you will.

Back in 98 when I first got online, I played a local contest and the one at SC. Same thing, the year after. Local dude was always on time, told when the picks would be up, results, and all that shit. I liked that. Dude, dunno who the hell it was back then on SC, was helter skelter, all over the fucking map, and did a shitty job. Rocketman, Inky, who the fuck knows, someone refresh my memory. Anywho, some mod that always had his hands full with other shit. I never blamed the guy. I just knew it could be done better, and thats when I decided to do it for SC during those last 2 years.

If I recall correctly, Wags, KUTTER, and poptart, did a damn fine job on TNW, and all the other fucking places we have migrated over the years. Over that period of time however, it seems no matter who runs the contest, doing however good of bad or a job, the main focus has always remained at keeping the group together. I still remain commited to that, and will bang the fucking drum starting around the first of August. I want everyone in. The same old faces, new ones, and some we havent seen for a while. I will do what ever it takes.

That said......... dudes writing names and numbers on scratch paper, counting numbers on the screen, using works programs, or trying to get people to adapt to a shitty formula that does nothing for them, is antiquated, and simply ignorant.

The geeks at Yahoo have a far better formula than I ever dreamed of. The whole idea of doing a quality job, has an entire new meaning, and its one that I, or no one else here can do. Click my Yahoo profile some time. You can see how good or bad I did in the pickems of 2004, as well as the fantasy baseball contest in 2001.

We have been beaten by the geeks. Now lets admit it, and join in.
