St. Louis just gave him his walking papers.

Martz would help the offense but who's going to fix the defense?

I'm sure that Martz will find another job.
Either in Oakland, or he'll follow Vermeil on the I-70 trek west, and end up in KC.

Yeah. I mean, if hiring Turner took the life out of Al a few years ago to the point of him needing rest afterward (No lie-read my link), then imagine what dealing with "the genius" will be like. Dude will have to return to hosting "Tales from the Crypt".

Where do Raiders go now?
Don't laugh. According to sources close to the Raiders, the hiring process that produced coach Norv Turner two years ago exhausted Davis. He had to take time off afterward to rest, and isn't eager to repeat the process.

That's unsettling. It means Davis could be making decisions on the team's future based on his energy level. Hey, the man's 77; that's no crime. But that can't be the balance-tipper when it comes time to decide whether or not the team needs a new head coach.
"Thats Unsettling"

Ya fucking think?

What's 'unsettling' to me is that there are prolly a half-dozen or more teams that are going to be looking for a new coach.

Who thinks Oakland is high on most prospective coaches' wish lists...?

At this point I can't say I do.

It'll likely either be another 'retread' (or in Norv's case, retard), or some eager young 'kid' just wanting to get his foot in the door SOMEWHERE. If it's a young guy then it's really a crap-shoot as to whether he'll show he has the goods, as Gruden did.

A bit of the 'shine' is off the Raider organization after the last 3 years.

Al better nail this next hire, because his team is 13-35 over the past 3 yrs, and a couple more horseshit years and this team WILL, in fact, be the 'new' Bengals.

I hear Al is trying to get em all...

Tice is going to be the Head Coach, Mike Martz the Offensive Coordinator, Mike Sherman the defensive coordinator and Jim Halsett has special teams.
Enjoy!
Yeah fuckers.... I'm back

Not a chance in hell Martz winds up in KC.

My money is still on Al Saunders.

Hell, we've got Trent and Tony both on record saying they'd love to have Al, not to mention that Vermeil has said many times that he hopes that's who succeeds him.

Now, I've also heard it said that Al and King Carl don't see eye to eye, but I don't know if that's true or not. One thing for sure though. If Saunders isn't the next KC head coach, he'll be HC some place else.

Yeah, it'd be 2 draft day idiots at each other throats fighting over whether to draft a kicker who runs a 4.0 40, or convert a fucking Linebacker into the future franchise QB.

You'd be very hard pressed to find a team that has drafted more Hall of Fame players than Oakland.
Not really sure that any team has.
Pittsburgh, perhaps.

Aside from the 8 Hall of Fame players Oakland has drafted they have also drafted notables, Stabler, Guy, Chester, Tatum, Bo Jackson, Branch, L. Hayes, and Tim Brown.

Not many gems of late though, yeah, I hear your footsteps.

Faiders should hire Pat Hill of Fresno State.

But they wont. Alice loves her offense and has no use for a coach who holds players accountable..

I don't see Martz in Oakland because he would want to have major input on the draft, and AL wouldn't want to give up his authority there. I do see an offensive minded coach being hired again because AL fancies himself a defensive genius.

I could see Martz ending up in Detroit, Greenbay or perhaps Houston..

I wouldn't be surprised to see Al Saunders coaching Oakland. He runs the offense al wants.

Still say Herm Edwards will end up in KC

That's the play. Offensive weapons in place. All they need is a madman to run them in the right circles.

I guarantee Pittsburgh has drafted more HOF's than Oakland.

I'd also lay money on teams like the Packers, Bears, Rams, and Giants as well... ya know.. teams that were around for years before Oakland.

Hard pressed... you may want to check with Goobs over your wording.

Pittsburgh has drafted 10 HoFamers.
Oakland 8.

Well sure, Oakland has been drafting since 1960 and the Bears, for instance, have been drafting since 1936.

I should have qualified my statement to say the 'modern' NFL.
