Narniaisms

Post by Bizzarofelice »

Not bad. Not as good as the LOTR movies, but conversely there wasn't as much overacting. It was worth the admission. I can't remember shit from the books so I wasn't searching for plot holes and missing sections. I guess the plot is a little shallow, and I wasn't pulled in by the story, but the pacing was good enough that the Jesus parallels weren't unbearable.

Only really good part of the movie is the precocious little 6 year old kid. ECCF resets aside, the kid seemed to have more intelligence and poise than your average Barbie and Bratz playing tot.

If you go see it, see if you can view the end of the movie without thinking "eggs... meat... meatnormous sandwich."

Aslan wasn't as terrifying as in the books and they white witches cronies fuck him up a lot worse in the book when the sacrifice him.

I thought it was entertaining, but a bit shallow...much like the books themselves.

BTW - saw the Harry Potter flick finally. If you're willing to shell out money to see Narnia, then you owe it to yourself to see Goblet of Fire, even if you're not much of a Rowling fan. Visually, the latest flick is stunning.

I was at Harry Pothead openning night. My wife is a fanatic. It' was what it was. Not a bad a flick but nothing I'll watch again... until my wife makes me do so.
