I'm sure that some of the Mizzou crowd will try and throw up their boy Quin as an option, but even he is a MENSA compared to the hands down DUMBEST coach in the nation. How this guy manages to year after year fuck up what IS a talented team has erased any and all doubts on just how horrid and pathetic of a "coach" he is. I give to you the man who puts forth a disorganized and ugly product each and every game...
Tommy Amaker
In case some are saying wait, are you SURE he's REALLY that dumb of a coach, let me present one stat that will ease your doubts. This is Amaker's career record against Mike Davis: 0-9

"Our staff is going to ensure that anyone who attends this University and wears the Indiana uniform will make this privilege among their highest priorities and not treat the opportunity as an entitlement,'' Crean said in a statement. "We fully expect our student-athletes to accept the responsibilities academically, athletically and socially that come with representing one of the top programs in college basketball history."

You'd expect more from a couple of guys who worked and played under Coach K. Mike Bray seems like he's got his stuff together at Notre Dame and when he was at Delaware. Jeff Capel wasn't an assistant, I don't recall, before started coaching ODU...he made the tournament with them. Amaker was such a promising coach when he was at Seton Hall. He was entering a hornet's nest at Michigan considering the contraversy around the Fab 5, the debacle under Ellerbe and the strength of the State program under Izzo. I don't know if Michgan can become relevant again with Izzo running things in the state of Michigan. Michigan and Michigan State were both respective programs during the 90s...Michigan had their few years of dominance but both were fairly even. State pulled way ahead while Michigan was dealing with their issues. Izzo doesn't look like he'll let go of the grip of the state until Michigan gets a marquee coach on Izzo's level.

i remember AMaker having a great recruiting year at Seton Hall--but not a lot more than that.
Snyder is completely in over his head. he's beat Oklahoma twice in a row in the reg. conference season after Ou blew double digit leads....but it had the look of "fuck it, let's jack up 3's" more than coaching from the sidelines both times.
it's got to be time for Bray to put something together other than a bubble team at ND.
and then there's Bob Bender (was that his name?) at UW who got to the round of 8 and then fell off the surface of the earth.

All UM's administration had to do way back 7 years before the sanctions, was come clean, and admit to lack of institutional control over their "boosters", and the "lingering" effects of the Pay for play wolvereasels would have been long over with, when Izzo made his first impact.
UM's continued denials to the investigators, is what made the effects far worse. You are now seeing the results.
Izzo has a blank check and free reign at one of the top basketball communitees in the Nation. He'll be around a while. Get used to it, Weasels.

Dawkins has been the top assistant for almost 10 years...if he wanted to be a head coach somewhere he would have done it already. I think he's perfectly happy being K's assistant, and I only see him becoming head coach in an interim-type situation.
Here's to not having to worry about that scenario for another 10-15 years....
