Bad call, but I find it hard to believe Texas wouldn't have scored in the next play or two anyway. They're starting to find their rhythm. USC's O better quit fucking up if they want to stay in this thing.
How big could that missed extra point end up being?

Absolutely agree 100%. However, since it's been proven more than a few times that these people aren't doing their jobs maybe some tweaking should be looked into. For instance, Michigan shouldn't have had to blow 2 timeouts to get plays reviewed in their bowl game.m2 wrote:There's people in the box right now, that get paid to make the right call!!!MuchoBulls wrote:Coaches challenging calls is not far off.
No excuse for that missed call whatsoever.

Unfortunately for you, I will reply. The Assassin wrote:Young was clearly down! Whats the point of reply if you aint gonna use it?
Texas was carving up USC at the time...if you don't think they'd have scored a TD anyway, and then NOT missed the extra point because they were trying to hurry to avoid a replay...you are a fucking 'tard.
I wished they would have replayed it, then they wouldn't have missed the XP the next time.
Then again, watching USC fan melt down and bitch about that non-call is going to be priceless, so perhaps it's a blessing in disguise.

Not an SC fan, just hate seeing obvious missed calls. You're right BTW: I didn't want to hear your worthless opinion bitch.

That's a terrible take. Terrible.BraveFan wrote:Bad call, but I find it hard to believe Texas wouldn't have scored in the next play or two anyway.
What the impending result of Texas' next several plays would or would not have been has absolutely NO relevance on whether replay should be used.
How that play could not have been reviewed is abhorrent.
And smackaholic... there is no challenging in the college game. Pete could've called a timeout to give the upstairs refs a bit more time to take a look, but that's it. You could argue that he should have called the TO, but that kinda undermines the whole intent of the auto video replay, eh?

I wasn't trying to make an argument about whether the play should have been reviewed. There's no question it should've been.
But as an objective fan, I don't think it had an impact on the end result of the drive. The Texas offense is just flat out better than the USC defense. Just sayin'.

Remind me to remind Van of that, just in case the Greatest Team In The History Of The World just happens to have this game "stolen" from them.

Not the first time I've seen an extra point shanked because they were hurrying to avoid a replay. I agree with Wagon that they'd have been better off if it had been replayed. USC wasn't going to stop them that series anyway.
After all the previous problems you'd think they'd have been adamant with the crew about how/when to do replay. What a cluster.
Props to the horn defense on a good first half, THIRTY MORE MINUTES BABY.

Yes they can be. May not matter if the USC players can't keep from getting their bell rung. Not no easy to score shitload of points when your stars get hit a few times. After watching the 1st half it seems White is the best player they got and they seem afraid to use him. I'd take 5 yds a carry over a little shake and bake and piss poor ball handling-showboat- gone-wrong crap. Texas needs to keep hitting hard, quit fumbling and let VY continue the Rose Bowl magic. He must have left a little there last year. He is playing above expectations, thankfully not letting his hurt heisman feelings get in the way.

I'm a bit surprised he didn't call a TO which likely would have gotten him a replay. Maybe he wanted to hold onto it for when he got the ball back.
I agree with campin that White is underused. Texas has an athletic D, you'd be better off taking it to them with the workhorse then changing up with Bush.

Good game.

It can't be. The Big 10 replay system got the stink blown off of it this year, and what was underneath wasn't pretty.MuchoBulls wrote:Coaches challenging calls is not far off.
Teams need to be able to initiate reviews, if it's going to happen at all. We all will probably agree, now, that some form of replay is necessary, because CFB ref competence isn't real high these days (sorry Lefty).
