What a stupid little fuck, "we are the better team," grow up and take a loss.

Just because neither you or Bush deserved the Heisman tonight doesn't mean you have to be a pussy.

Damn glad you are gone so we don't have to hear about you anymore.

Leinart was exposed in tonight's game, and Young was shown to be the real Heisman winner tonight.

To be fair, Leinert was on fire passing in the second half, but if by exposed you mean that he's an asshole, then I'd consider him exposed.

You lost, you weren't the better team. Enjoy your career with the Aints. that's just the epitomy of most SC fans, players etc....If you watched after SC went up 38-26 some fat a$$, #77 was on the sidelines with his hook em horns pointed down to the ground saying, "Dis onz ovuh." translated from ebonics he was saying, "this one's over." Nice a$$hole. I couldn't be happier. Sorry Jimmy and Greg.

Watching the post game, and the SC band is still there. They must think the result is going to change.

Leinart played great tonight, and over his whole Trojan career.

Nobody can say he didn't play a great game tonight. He and USC were basically unstoppable until USC went conservative late in the fourth, both offensively and defensively.

No need to act like Leinart didn't come through here. Any other game, that would be considered a thoroughly dominating performance against a defense that was supposed to be impregnable against the pass...

Carroll basically implied Texas was a one player team.

He's also killing himself for staying in school to take ballet dancing, instead of making a mint in the NFL.

Leinart is such a dick, bitter bitter little boy. During the post game interview he was nothing but shallow and weak.

I wonder if he is more worried about his draft status or his (and USC's) popularity status in SoCal

he should say whatever it is vince young is saying to the media right now. dood does well with the press. granted they won, but had they lost i don't see him wanking on about the being the better team or glancing the defense's way when asserting they should've won.

Reggie wasn't exposed at all.

Texas chose their poison with USC's offense. They choose not to let Reggie beat them, and just as it always happens you can shut down (to a degree) part of USC's offense but when you do you're opening yourselves up to getting smoked by those other poisons...

USC went for over 500 yards tonight and Reggie had something like 200 combined yards so other than that FUCKING STUPID LATERAL even Reggie had a decent game while Leinart, White and Jarret simply lit Texas up like they've never been lit up in recent memory...

true. i'd def opt for lendale white on that 4th and 2 rather than the heisman trophy winner. no sarcasm intended. i think white was stopped ONE other time for less than two yards.

Exposed as the 2nd best QB in the draft (if VY goes) and maybe the 6th or 7th pic overall. Uh yeah, it was worth staying around another year.

hmmm...Bush just ran up against a team that was more than one-dimensional, is all. He still is a great talent that every NFL team would be fortunate to get and undergo development with. This is not changed by the fact that he was slowed a bit today.

While Leinart definitely cost himself a ton of money by sticking around this year (which we all knew going in, regardless of what happened this year) don't confuse the college game with the pro game.

What VY does in college ball won't fly in the NFL. He's still a LOOOONG way away from being a competent NFL style QB while Leinart will step in and handle the position much more seamlessly, much sooner...

In the NFL VY won't be able to take off and run free all the time and he definitely won't have three weeks to sit back there and look over and choose between three different wide open receivers.

In fact, it's precisely what VY is good at that will prove to be his downfall in the NFL. You can't win the Rose Bowl while continually occupying space on the IR list for the New York Jets...

Mvscal, if what we're expecting of Reggie in the NFL is for him to immediately have the type of impact he had in the college game, well, of course not. No way he's going to come into the NFL and dominate like that.

Nobody in the NFL would ever expect or even imagine much less require that sort of dominance from an NFL neophyte all purpose back.

That sort of instant dominance won't be the yardstick by which he'll be measured in the NFL. The hope for any NFL team which employs him is that he'll (sooner rather than later) eventually become a durable and dangerous all purpose threat like a LaDanian Tomlinson, Joe Washington, Joe Morris or, yes, your favorite all time back ( :-) ), Barry Sanders.

He'll likely show flashes of brilliance early on but his true worth will be measured years down the road when he's taking up a ton of the opposing defensive coordinator's time game planning against him in preparation for their second round playoff game...

Lendale might be a great pro but it's too early to tell right now because he's playing behind such a ridiculously dominating offensive line. Lendale is constantly running downhill behind that line and in the NFL he won't see nearly that sort of line play dominance nor the opportunity for such easy yards.

Reggie, like a Barry Sanders, can create his own yards out of nothing. He might get stopped six straight times and then bust you for eighty on the seventh try. Lendale will need a great line and he'll need to keep his weight in check lest he becomes too slow...

Also, with the rare exceptions of the Jerome Bettises of the world battering ram backs like White usually don't have long NFL careers. They usually shine for a couple/few years at best before the wear and tear on their bodies take its toll and they start breaking down too often as they slow down too much...

Ok... Mack held him to 200 yards today, and we average 40 yards a game for Bush.

Same result... CAL and texas are the only teams to beat them the last 3 years...

I sure hope you have to wait until '07, as far fetched as that may be at this point...

Whaddya say, Reggie and Lendale? Little unfinished bidness now to tend to, wouldn't ya' say, especially knowing you're returning four of your five offensive lineman and nearly all of your defensive starters...

Besides, c'mon, Leinart will be gone so now all the very best SoCal coed/celebrity hottie/porn star pussy will flock to YOU!

Think about it.

Charles White was a tough guy but he was November mud slow and about as shifty as Norman Rockwell.

Guys like Reggie never really seem to take too many direct hits. When did you ever really see Gale Sayers or Barry Sanders truly get blasted?

It just doesn't happen all that much.

Over time Reggie could easily morph into Tony Dorsett, as well.

what Leinart said was that he felt USC beat themselves, the 2 turn overs that they had deep in Texas territory makes that a hard point to argue, Bush's pitch shows that he is not ready for the NFL and needs another year at USC

No it doesn't, not in the least.

When you're going to be the #1 pick in the draft you're very obviously ready for the NFL and there's no guarantee that you wouldn't make that same stupidly exuberant attempt at a play next year or even five years down the road.

It was just a play maker feeling his oats and trying to do too much. It happens in every NFL game too.

(Wait...Yeah, yeah, you're right!! Bush AND White DO need another year at USC!! What was I thinking? Fuggen slackers...

For your own good, yeah, come on back Reggie! Come on back, Lendale! You...need....another year at USC!

 )

maybe they were the better team. it's ok to think it. but to go on national tv and say so just show's what a pos he is.

I hear what you're saying and agree to a certain extent, but what is he going to do against a pro defense the shittiest of which will be faster than Texas?

I'm just not sold on him. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if White didn't turn out to be the better pro. There's no questioning his power and he's quick enough.
Reggie Bush's ability to catch the ball out of the backfield AND lineup as a WR and beat DB's on solo coverage is proof to me that he'll have a good NFL career. I agree that White has the power and speed for the pro game. Whatever team gets him is getting a RB who might have been a top 5 pick had he not been sharing time with Bush.
