Reggie Bust

Fuckin' dude is another ESPN overblown bust. Sure he has some moves and speed but he's a part time RB in the NFL at best who will end up having no where near as much success at the next level. Not to mention he isn't too smart....as in lame lateral.....

ESPN and most of the media tend to ride the jocks of all the highlight clip players....Reggie is just the current college highlight stud to NFL dude of a long line to follow.

Lendale White is the RB NFL teams should be looking at.

Matt Leinart isn't far behind, not enough accuracy. Kyle Boller II.

Considering the amount of stupid football plays you must have seen from chokeland over the last three years that's saying something.

Still I'd reluctantly take Bush on my team.

Just pointing out you are the same tard who applauded his selection, 3rd rd wasted pick is a wasted pick, compulsory or not.

I don't see much difference between Bush and Justin Fargas.

I think an NFL team will have to use Bush correctly, and if so, they'll get a lot out of him.

If they try to make him an every down back I think they'll end up disappointed.

Get him 15 touches a game as a kick and punt returner, a ball carrier (draws, screens, swing-passes), and a slot receiver.
Get him matched-up with a LB and let him do his thang.

If you get him those touches he's prolly gonna break one or two a game for big yards.

He's a dazzling talent with sweet open-field moves and tremendous speed.

Lienart has been driving a Rolls Royce the past couple of college seasons.
Great O-line, super system, great backs, great overall team talent.
To my eye, he appears slightly 'slow' in his delivery and in his mannerisms.
I think he's gonna find the pro game a LOT faster.
I don't see him as nearly a 'sure thing' prospect as an NFL QB.
50% chance he'll be a 'good' pro.
20% or less chance he'll be a great pro.

Get him 15 touches a game as a kick and punt returner, a ball carrier (draws, screens, swing-passes), and a slot receiver.

That doesn't sound like the description of a #1 selection, as the media would have you believe he is. And if he is taken #1 overall & ends up being a part time RB/ special team player.....he will be a disappointment or bust considering the amount of cap space he'll occupy

I'll stick to my gut feeling that LenDale White will end up the better NFL player.

White is going to be like an Eddie George back. I think Reggie will be fine but he is going to have to become more of a north/south runner. The guys in the NFL arent going to byte on his jukes.

I find it damn hard to disagree with either you or tart on this. I've had a nagging feeling that whomever picks Bush (presuming he goes in the top 5) will wish they had chosen someone more NFL ready. In particular, I think the Texans are absolutely insane if they dump a proven NFL back like Dominak Davis for Bush.

The lateral play was a bad move by a guy just trying to make a play. I hardly call a guy who put up 170+ combined yards and a TD a bust.

If I was to build a team around one of three superstars from last night, no question I'd take Vince. The guts and determination he showed was legendary. Throw all of the comparisons to Vick you want but I doubt RM would've done that last night. Leinart and Bush will still be very good pros but if Vince did declare for the draft, I would give my first born for the Lions to get him in the draft.

Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Bush and Whineart are both legit top-tier NFL prospects. What a team can accomplish with them in terms of development remains to be seen...but it has everything to do with the scenario they find themselves in.

There are VERY few kids who can come in and thrive as rookies for teams that are all but shot except for the chance at a #1 pick. This was my take when LJ was drafted by the Chiefs...it was actually perfect, in terms of his development. If he had gone to a team that needed to start him right away, he never would have been successful. The couple of years spent developing behind Priest Holmes - as odious as he found them - were definitely productive for Larry.

Whineart and Bush will probably go to teams that won't be able to succeed with them immediately.

I think this statement defines my assertion.

Vince Young was the best player on the field yesterday, but USC's LB's and defense as a whole were slow and weak. None of them could bring down Young by themselves. That won't be the case in the NFL. He does remind me of Culpepper though.

I'll compare him to another former Heisman winner with comparable skills - Barry Sanders.

He turned out to be a pretty good pro.

As far as Vince Young goes, he's an outstanding talent who had the biggest game of his life when it mattered the most. Aside from last night, didn't see him play at all this year. Can he throw the ball downfield? He only averaged about 7 yards a reception last night. If SC did a better job tackling, it probably would have been much less. And he certainly won't run in the NFL like he did last night because, needless to say, NFL players are faster, can tackle and hit much harder.

I like both and I think you could be correct on White. Any idea where he is being predicted to go in the draft? I thought I read he may slip to the end of the 1st round but after last night's performance I wonder if he'll get in the top half. He'd be a steal if he lasted longer than the first 15.

As for Bush, he has a lot to prove and the pressure will be on. Who Houston brings in as a coach will probably determine if they go after Bush or not.

I heard on ESPN radio before yesterdays game that White was projected somewhere near the 5th pick in the draft.

As for Bush, he has a lot to prove and the pressure will be on. Who Houston brings in as a coach....

If Houston doesn't get a lot more help on their Oline Bush isn't going anywhere.....literally. :wink:

Good debate, I'm with PSU in that Bush will, without a doubt, land on a very bad team. He possibly could be used and abused into early retirement well before said team even becomes competitive, hopefully not.
