Now I can see why Van isn't bringing FACTS to the table -- they aren't in the same area code as him.Van wrote:Eddie George
Van, you keep bringing up Eddie George. How many years was Eddie a top back in the league? Now, how long were the all-time greats (of any size) top backs in the league? What's the average career length for a back of any size(I'll help you out, it's around 4 years)?
If you're going to try to back up your (incorrect) argument with facts, you should probably try using...facts, rather than throwing out arbitrary names.
Oh, and since you're turning tail and running from FACTS, here's one -- Eddie George, the guy you keep bringing up as the "norm" of power runners and their inherent knack for wearing down so much earlier than the juke-type guys had 8 seasons of 300 or more carries. The power back with the big long career that you keep citing as an example of the "exception," Jerome Bettis, had 5 seasons of 300 carries or more....which oddly enough, is the exact same number as that complete fucking washout you and your fellow revisionist historians keep citing as the ultimate example of a power runner who went down early because he initiated contact all the time...Earl Campbell. And both of those guys had 2 more 300+ carry seasons than possibly the most elusive guy ever, Tony Dorsett.
Hey, remember all those times that Sweetness shied away from the contact? He he was totally a juke-'em guy...for sure. The guy was legendary for running out of bounds rather than taking contact, right Vannar? He had 10 seasons of 300+ carries.
Feeling fucking stupid yet? You should...possibly the most agressive, in-search-of-contact runner in the history of the game also set the standard for longevity.
Out of respect, I'm going to be quite honest and sincere -- you're starting to look like a fucking fool, Van.
So, it's your turn to bring some FACTS to the table, Van, or give this absolute nonsense a rest.
Although I can clearly see why you're avoiding citing facts to support your argument...there aren't any. The "facts" you're going to find (or the ones I'm going to go upside your head with, take your pick) will support the other side of the argument, not yours. A Cadillac takes a head-on better than a Yugo...believe it.
In the heat of battle, we all occasionally spew bullshit that isn't quite supported by fact...but it takes a real Van to hold on to it this long, all the while bringing absolutely ZERO FACTS to the table, regardless how much evidence to the contrary is presented to him. You'd make a great Christian, you know that Van?
Props for the peckersmack, though.
