Am I the only Halo fan who thinks this is a HUGE mistake? Yeah I know all about Jeff Mathis, but did the Angels learn nothing from the "let's let Glaus go because we have MacPherson to play third" debacle that aided the power outage last year?
Now they are presumably parting ways with probably one of, if not the best catcher in their franchise history, all because they have a prospect waiting in the wings. Bengie's a good guy and it's been great having him and brother Jose behind the plate for us these past few, successful years. I honestly hope he winds up back here somehow.
Moreno and Angels management is starting to slowly piss me off. First the name change, then letting Eckstein go for Cabrera (although I liked the deal at the time and hope it will pan out for the best in the end...Eck had a monster year for the Cards), and now letting half of the Brothers Molina escape. Sure, they got Vlad, but what good is a power hitter who hits under a buck in the postseason?
Keep Bengie an Angel!!

I'd hate to see Bengie go-especially since Mathis is waaaay too young IMO.
What Angel management needs to do is check thier heads and realize that we need one more serious power hitter in the lineup. You know, like a Glaus type of clutch hitter
Angel management is going to FUCK this franchise up if they keep trying to fix pieces that arent fucking broken. We need another front line pitcher. We need one more big bat. And we need a center fielder who will hit over 2fucking60 for the season.

Damon in CF, Konerko at 1B, Man-Ram in Left (GA to DH) would look pretty good right now, wouldn't it? Coulda picked up Konerko and Damon as FAs, though it seems like luring Konerko from Chi-town was ultimately an impossibility. Man-Ram could have come in a deal that included Erstad, although I'd hate to see him go. Ersty and a couple prospects coulda brought Manny this way. They still have a 5th starter they need to find, so keeping Wash wouldn't have been that bad a gig, especially considering how hard it is to find solid left handed pitching.Raydah James wrote:I'd hate to see Bengie go-especially since Mathis is waaaay too young IMO.

The veiled threats the pastmonth from Arte about moving the team really have me wondering if Arte is as good for the franchise as I thought at first, or if he's too "all business" to even understand the loyalty of the faithful Halo fans. Bottom line, the Angels are OCs team, and if he does take the team out, he'll have one helluva pissed off fan base that will dessert the team.
There's strong rumours going around that the Blue Jays aren't quite finished with their offseason spending spree just yet.
Apparently, there's still a few million left for Benjie to be reunited with the Jays new 3rd baseman, Troy Glaus.
Will they get Molina? Who knows but they're batting 1.000 so far this offeason. It wouldn't surprise me.
