HOF Class of 2006

Post by DallasFanatic »

Troy Aikman
Harry Carson
John Madden
Warren Moon
Reggie White
Rayfield Wright

Rack this Class. Especially the ten year snub the Boys have gotten by putting in two this year.

You're next Michael. You'll probably have to wait for Emmitt to jon you.

A very good qb and a decent qb that was surrounded by HOF talent.

Yep, RACK Warren Moon, Rayfield, Madden, Reggie, and H.C.

As long as Art Monk continues to get the shaft, Irvin shouldn't even be an afterthought.

I have to agree 100% with this take. I have no idea what the rational of the voters is, year after year, that keep Art Monk out of the HOF.

Monk didn't even make the final 10. That's just fucking retarded. Somebody must have it in for Monk.

Peter King is the biggest reason why Monk isnt in the HoF. He is the person who stands up and argues why he shouldnt be in the Hall. I think its bullshit, if you ask me. Monk retired w/ the most catches, consecutive games w/ a catch and most catches in a season.

Irvin doesnt get in until Monk does.

I thought Thurman Thomas would get in. He had a great career.

RACK this class. About time Madden got in.

Yes, for his accomplishment of lining up next to some of the greatest passrushers of our generation.

Very good player, but vastly overrated, and never gave his teammates the credit they deserved for his success...but he was never known for having much class.

Ray Guy should be in.

Warren Moon never led a team to even an appearance in a conference championship game, and he's a first ballot guy....?

He won a lot of titles in the french league, and he threw a lot of perty passes.

uhh......

Congrats to big John.

Long overdue.

It's called the PRO Football Hall of Fame. It ain't Moon's fault that NFL GMs were a bunch of racist cocksuckers who couldn't see a great QB behind his skin color.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Sin,
Frank Reich

One of the best games I ever watched. Listening to Boomer Esiason calling his shot that Buffalo would win when they were still like 28 points down was awesome. After yet another touchdown, Boomer once again said "Frank Reich will lead the Bills to a win." Then another TD, and another Boomer "the Bills will win this game." After another TD, the other announcer, whoever it was, finally said "Boomer, you keep saying that. What makes you so sure?" Boomer responded "Because Frank Reich led the biggest comeback in NCAA history, and it went just like this. I know...I played for the other team." It was pretty funny at the time.

Oh, I guess it was the GMs that made that dude choke on a fat fucking cock in every big game he ever played? Funny, I don't remember any NFL GMs throwing the ball 20 feet behind the recievers at crunch time...must be my memory not working right.

Oh, and if Moon was shunned by all of these racist GMs, how is it he managed to have enough opportunity to become #4 on the all-time passing list?

Damn those freaking bigoted GMs. Just think, if they weren't so prejudiced against midgets, how much Doug Flutie could have accomplished.

Bri, Moon had ample opportunity to win some 'meaningful' games.

He played in the NFL for 17 years.

Went to the playoffs 7 times.
Had a 3-7 record in playoff games.

Dude played QB for 17 years, won 3 friggin' playoff games, and he's a first ballot HoF player.

Freaking busting up at the shitty trolljob over here.

I mean, come on...we go from this --
It ain't Moon's fault that NFL GMs were a bunch of racist cocksuckers who couldn't see a great QB behind his skin color.
To this --

STOP KILLING IN OUR NAME!, then I am forced to conclude that mv might just have a point.

Within a few minutes of each other. Awesome.

I guess Warren Moon should have just said NO! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! HEY ALL YOU OTHER BLACK QBs, YOU NEED TO STOP CHOKING BIG GAMES IN MY NAME!!!!!

I guess he was too busy beating his wife at the time.

"I saw greatness in John and he lived up to it. I also saw a tremendous competitor who loved to win. John is a standard bearer, someone that players, coaches, fans and the Raider Nation can all look up to. One of his great virtues, the fire that burned brightest in him, was his love and passion for football, which was seldom ever equaled. Image

Rack John Madden! Now I'll go play Tampa in the superbowl on Madden 03, I win all the time 8)

Peter King is a fucking douche bag. I heard this asshole on the Dan Patrick show after the NFC championship game talking abou how the Panthers were too hurt, too beat down, too many games on the road to have really given Seattle a contest. I was really hoping Patrick would say, "well, dumbass, you knew all that before the game but you still picked them to win. Moron."
Hardwork is damn near as overrated as monogamy.

Yea, and he also had a defense that was capable of choking away a 35 point lead and a retard for a head coach who thought it was "fresh" to leave tickets for Elvis at the Will Call window.

You are aware the football is a TEAM sport?
He played in the NFL for 17 years.
And he also played untill he was FOURTY FOUR. Spin all you want, but Moon lost 6-7 years of playing time because most NFL GMs were not ready to put a black man under center.
Went to the playoffs 7 times.

Sounds like the last 15 years of Dan Marino's career.

B_smack has a point on the race issue, but to pass the buck off to Moon's teammates for not winning any meaningful games is fucking ridiculous. Bottom line, if he was really great he'd at least have escaped the Divisionals ONCE.

Yes. I think this discrepancy can be attributed to me screwing up the quote.

I'm not so much blaming Moon's teamates as the system he played in. There's a reason we don't see Cowher and Holmgren running the run and shoot. And that is simply that it puts too much stress on the defense. It has been proven that playoff caliber teams will break the run and shoot damn near every time. Given that no other run and shoot team (don't confuse Buffalo's no huddle with the run and shoot) had any kind of post season sucess, I'd say Moon did well to win the games he did win.

Simply put, even after losing the start of his career to the CFL, Moon put up numbers that are hall worthy period. 49,000 yards, 291 TDs and a 7.2 yard per completion average are elite numbers. Those are elite numbers for anybody, much less a guy who wasn't given a chance to compete in the NFL until he was 28 years old.

Because Jack Pardee had the freaking nerve to try and be secretive and "patent" "HIS" offense. What a complete gravytraining asshole.

Mouse Davis who actually DID innovate the run-and-shoot, had health problems that kept him from teaching other young OC's the mysteries and intricacies of the run-and-shoot. The lack of it spreading can be attributed to the assholes he taught it to, rather than a lack of effectiveness.

It was obviously quite successful in the NFL. Unfortunately, the Oilers had a known Husky choker at the helm, so they never were able to convert it into a championship.

DO NOT dis Mouse...EVER. His system is alive and well at Hawaii, courtesy of the Second Desciple Of The Run-And-Shoot, Junebug Jones.

P.S.: Thanks for the memories, Mouse. Walking by those full trophy cases every morning was sweet. You taught June well-btw.

I'm sure the run and shoot was good for a few high school championships.

BTW: So is the triple option and the wing T.
