Gonzaga overrated??
62-61 over Saint Mary's
I know Morrison is a player, but beating St Mary's (10-11) at home on a last second FT is pathetic. How come every year they do this? They play some bonafide programs and get beat, play a bad conference schedule to pad the wins and then get a #3-4 seed in the Tourney. For some odd reason they are still talked about as a Cinderella and then bow out before the Sweet 16.

I thought so weeks ago. Didn't see the point much in posting it here though. Morrison is great and their offense is usually really productive but I don't think they have played a lick of defense.

The WCC simply cannot prepare you for the type of talent you'll face from the heavy hittin' conference teams come March. That's why I have yet to put the Zags in a Final 4, and I won't until they prove they can go that far. They HAVE beaten some "bonafide" programs this year (on the road/neutral courts) vs Michigan State and Maryland. They also played UCONN and Washington real tough, but those games will be distant memories once March rolls around.

Is it more or less pathetic than beating a 12-10 Virginia Tech team at home on a miracle half court shot???Cicero wrote:but beating St Mary's (10-11) at home on a last second FT is pathetic.
"Our staff is going to ensure that anyone who attends this University and wears the Indiana uniform will make this privilege among their highest priorities and not treat the opportunity as an entitlement,'' Crean said in a statement. "We fully expect our student-athletes to accept the responsibilities academically, athletically and socially that come with representing one of the top programs in college basketball history."

Turiaff gave them a bigtime inside prescense.Bizzarofelice wrote:Why? Turiaff was the overrated one. Not Morrison.Adelpiero wrote:losing turriaf was a huge blow to zags
Last year the Zags were overrated BIG TIME JERRY. This year its about right for now.
they don't have that this year, which puts more pressure on Morrison
they inside outted teams to death last year. he was a huge loss
Batista is a solid center, but turiaff gave them a lot, he was the heart of the team.

I'll concur with that. They should be better by leaps and bounds over the teams in that conference. Morrison is the MVP of college basketball without question. This is far from the most complete Gonzaga teams they've had. Morrison is definitely the best player they've had though.
