Red Sox going after Clemens..

Post by Jack »

Red Sox going Hollywood to land Clemens..

and I think it's a BIG Mistake for both Roger and the Red Sox..

Leave the past in your behind!!

Roger is old. His history with the Red Sox is History..

I only see wasted money and a bitter end!!

and I'm putting a positive spin on this!!

Couldn't disagree more!!! Clemens has shown he is a highly motivated individual and if he had any type of run support last year, you'd be looking at a back-2-back NL Cy Young winner. You can't honestly tell me you'd rather have a rotation of Schilling/Beckett/Clement*/Wakefield/Arroyo*/Wells* rather than Clemens in any of those * spots?

I'd be more concerned with Schilling's age and injury issues than I would be with Roger's.

I agree.

I'd love to see him back there @ Fenway, but I don't see it happening.

Roger can pitch in the NL at Cy Young level. He can pitch in the AL as a decent pitcher (Not Cy Young level, though).

If the Sox could get Roger for $8 million.. I say Do IT!!

but he will cost at least $18 Million/ yr.

He will be a distraction in the clubhouse and will bring back the Prima Donna attitude that the Sox are trying to rid themselves of.

In Fenway, If he wins, it will be expected. If he slumps, he will be booed.

Roger should end his career with the Astros!

Clemens would be better off in the AL, where he doesn't have to pick up a bat.

Last night on ESPN radio, Gamenight was speculating that the Rocket may announce retirement after the World Classic...for what its worth.
