Converting WMA to WAVE

Post by BBMarley »

Hey all-

Anyone know the best way to convert WMA files to Wave files? Was told of a good, legal P2P site for DLing music tonight. Found some good live albums I can't pick up anywhere- but they DL into WMA. Need to know how to convert these so I can burn and play in my car.

just open them in your Windows Media Player. Then click on the Burn Tab. Add the WMA files you would like to burn and click on Burn. It will convert them to WAV files and burn them on the CD.

Alternatively you can go to your Library in Windows Media Player. Highlight the songs you want to burn, right click and choose Add To -> Burn List. Then click on the Burn tab and just hit Burn. It will analyze the songs and keep adding in the songs until you run out of space on the CD.

I was using windows media player until I got an Ipod and connected it to the Car radio.

Sorry, that was not correct. I tried to convert wma to mp3 with CDeX, and failed.

However, a google produced several commercial programs that easily make the conversion. They all have trials, which should allow you to accomplish the task until Donovan lays a better link on us.

Here's a list of programs, I used the first one:

I can't remember the last time I even had a WMA file on my computer, but I'd have to second ElTaco's suggestion. WMP was made to do stuff like this.

If you don't like WMP, dBpowerAMP is very useful for audio conversion, but they've started charging for it. Foobar is also great (and free) but isn't that easy to use.
