Stanford and Gonzaga tied at Gonzaga 48-48 with 16 minutes to go.

Zags have a 35 game home win streak to preserve.

Well Stanford made it close. They couldn't come close to stopping Morrison.

Seriously, though, the 'zags have absolutely nothing beyond Morrison and Batista. This is not a top 10 team.

Morrison and Batista are a hell of a lot more than most teams have, they are really tough. But sometimes I think the Zags lean too much on Morrison and sort of forget about Batista. That is a problem the coaches need to work on.

I was really impressed with Gonzaga earlier in the year. I still think they are a legit top 10 team. They have tried to schedule their way into some tough games, and I think they had some success. Stanford, as you know, is playing much better ball than they were in Nov and Dec.

Raivio is a decent PG and shoots well enough that he has to be played honestly, the Cespides (whatever the hell his name is) kid is a decent slasher and the big red headed guy knows his role and plays it well. Clearly they are not as talented as say, UConn (who they played very well against in Maui), but they can hang with anybody else. It will be interesting for them in the tourney.
