Flaming Lips - Zaireeka

Post by At Large »

After many years of putting it off, I finally borrowed this one from my brother and combined all four cds into one cd. If you don't know what this one is, this is the CD where you have to synch up and play four separate CDs to hear each of the tracks. The result is much like listening to a dolby surround with a CD. However, it's not very convenient for individual listening, so I merged each of the four cd songs into one track. The result is good, but the mix is purposely distorted by the Lips. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll post it.

Someone did a 5.1 mix of Zaireeka that is really good. They even added cool visual effects to create a DVD version. You might be able to find it if you search torrent sites.

Here you go. It was a pretty straight forward process by pasting all four separate track pieces into Audacity and then saving them as one single track. The only tweaking I did was bumping down the high-pitched shriek tracks from track 6 (cds 2-4) so that it was actually listenable. You can still hear the shriek a little. I also included the original mix.
