MSU kicks ass on the road, once again.

We shouldn't lose our last two. But Wisconsin shouldn't have lost to Northwestern either. That game is no gimme.

Yes, no one gave the Bucks much of a chance this year, myself included. At the start of the year, I was just holding out for a low seed in the NCAAs. Matta has totally exceeded expectations, and hopefully the AD realizes that some changes are needed to keep this caliber of basketball in Columbus for a long time.

Welcome to the bubble.

They are definitely limping to the finish line. This team used to pride itself on being able to go to other teams' arenas and winning. I had this team as top 5 club going into the season and winning the Big Ten...serves me right for backing the wrong horse. The Big Ten is very balanced this year but I don't really see any of them making a lengthy run in the Dance...maybe other than Ohio State. It's one thing to be toughened up for the tournament by playing a gruling conference season but I would've expected better than a .500 record out of the Spartans. Indiana puts themselves in a decent spot to get in...if they win out (@ Purdue and @ Michigan), I think that puts them in with a 9-7 conference mark and 17-10 overall.

As much as I would like to say "yes" we are a lock, we had a lot of trouble with NW last time. And we have had a few let downs during the season. They only reason I doubt our ability to run the conference or NCAA tourney is the numerous droughts we have had this season. We have ended 3 or 4 of our losses with 6+ mins w/o scoring. That needs to change before the tourney.

I think a split with Wisconsin and Illinois is likely, but I wouldn't be surprised if MSU wins them both. I think they're in the tourney right now, and would really have to lose three in a row to not get a bid.

State's not on the bubble. If they lose the next two and bow out of the tourney early, I'll get back with you, but for now, they're in.

I think they're in also but they could staring down the barrel of being placed in one of those 8-9 or 7-10 first round deathmatches. They're making the bed they're lying in by not taking care of business on the road in conference. The home team have been very dominant in the Big Ten season but I really thought State would take this much of a beating. They'll be lucky to get out of the first weekend of the Big Dance at this rate.

Yeah, all these road losses might have meant State got bumped from an 8/9 seed to a 7/10 seed, which isn't all that terrible because that means they'll play a 2 instead of a 1 in the second round. Any matchup will be tough, but if I had the choice, I'd rather play Florida or GW than Duke.
