OK vs OK St

Post by Sky »

Damn, that shot Eaton made was crazy. Hell of a game. I was a little disappointed in the "Bullshit" call by OU fans. Obviously we have a little better view point but on national TV, that is not the right chant.

By the way, Eddie Sutton's son looks like Chuckie....well at least a drunk-Chuckie.

That was a great game! Stupid foul by Eaton with one second left is the most obvious from a Cowboy perspective, but a missed 1-1 a few seconds earlier and some other plays came into it. I liked the game, although a heartbreaker from my side.

Sean, Eddie's boy, may not be the best looking head coach in the handsome category, but he is coaching very well in his new role. He calls a better offense against the zone than his dad, and gets the same or better effort on defense. He actually had his team playing zone against Tech a few days ago and they played it pretty effectively. I listen to a lot of post game interviews, and to a player...they seem to think that things are better in the past 2 weeks. That would be since Eddie hit the wall, so to speak. I'm thinking this team was always Sean's and they are playing better once he has them under his wing. I like what they did tonight, but am disappointed with so good a game going for a loss.

A good indicator for a team is what they do in close games. The Sooners have a bunch of close games they have won. The Pokes have a shitload this season that they played their hearts out and lost by one or two in the last few seconds.

I love basketball because of that. I think that closing the game is a team talent, that which separates winners from losers. You can have great individual or even team effort to make points, but closing it is what makes the difference.

Right now, OU can close well. Many games lately where a one point win made the difference late, OU has pulled out a win. OSU hasn't. I'm tired of excusing them for being freshmen, right now they simply can't close a tight game. I'm looking forward to the day they grow up, and am hoping it comes in the Big 12 tourney instead of next year...but anytime in the near future would be fine :)

Regardless, that was a great game. As much as I might doubt OU since they won 4 close games over some teams they should have beat handily, they are training themselves for those high-pressure games. Bode's well for the conference/ncaa tourney.

Great finish. And both those kids hit some clutch FT's.

Good post Ang. But one point I would like to make about the OSU basketball team is that they aren't freshman anymore; not in my mind. They are 3/4 of a season in and they have been getting as much playing time as anyone else. At this point they are now sophmores as far as I am concerned. Mentally they should be at that point now.

Oklahoma has done this for years. We play to our compitions level no matter how much talent we have but we get Ws. As long as we continue to win I don't care if it is by 1 or 100.
