is this site http://www.mp3search.ru/ legal in the US?

I probably got the link from this site some time ago and just started using it last night after cleaning out my favorites..

I heard about a similar MP3 site out of Russia where you can listen to entire albums. Don't know if you can download them or not. I forget the link but I'm sure the site is pretty close to what that is.

This one has 10 cent downloads for almost everything and their selection is excellent.

Albums are even cheaper when priced per song.

I'm sure if they ever draw enough traffic that the RIAA will be knocking on their door.

I use this site all the time, as my ADD won't allow me to surf P2P joints any longer looking for deece downloads. Patsy has a thread on page 4 of this forum regarding this site.

I also visit http://www.allofmp3.com/ from time to time. Good shit.

If you ask me, forget about being legit in your music downloading and just grab whatever you want. But support good artists directly by going to their shows and getting their records from them. But if sending pennies to the Russian mob helps you sleep at night, giv'r.

In recent years, I've taken to buying CDs from bands that I like. I'm not under the impression that it's doing much for the artists, but it is what it is.

BTW - RACK Dins and his pimping of CDBaby.

I couldn't agree more. Though I will buy certain major label artists when they do something I would like to encourage. As an example, I will buy any and all of Led Zeppelin's concert CD and DVD releases because I wish to encourage them to release more of this material. The same goes for Pink Floyd. I also plan on buying more Flaming Lips DVDs because the 5.1 mix adds some serious value to their recorded work and I wish more bands would follow their lead.

I second that rack. I'd also like to mention Not Lame. They have some worthy power pop bands, including the excellent Paper Airplane Pilots.
