Pick'em

Post by Sky »

I think we should continue some form of pick'em over the next 4 weeks. This is the best time for CBBall and often the most fun. I don't know if Shine needs a break or if we just don't have a format but I think we should continue this.

Any ideas out there?

I was thinking, for at least the conference tourneys, each person picks the winner of each conference tournament. For example, if I pick OSU to win the Big10 and they win, I get 2 pts for every win. Thus, since they have a buy and only play 3 games, I will get 6 points. However, if someone were to take a dark horse (like Michigan) and they win, they get 8 points. On the same note, if OSU loses in the finals, I would get 4 points for their two wins. Let me know what you think.

Also, this is not to take away from Mook's continued excellence. Maybe we just make this a separate pick'em event and if Shine doesn't want to run it, I will.

I think a seperate tourney challenge would be interesting.

I won't be adding to the pick em but feel free to do something for it if you'd like and I'll sticky the post up top.

I'm all for more contests and what not, but this time of year needs no extra hyping IMO. March Madness is simply put the best time period in all of sports bar none. The conference tourneys may be a bit different, but there will be pools galore for the big dance.

FWIW, the tweaking I plan to do for next season of the pick em would include some post-season games.
"Our staff is going to ensure that anyone who attends this University and wears the Indiana uniform will make this privilege among their highest priorities and not treat the opportunity as an entitlement,'' Crean said in a statement. "We fully expect our student-athletes to accept the responsibilities academically, athletically and socially that come with representing one of the top programs in college basketball history."

I like the idea of picking winners for the conference tourneys. I'm in.
