friend of mine dropped this on a disc he gave me....and i really dig it.
i'm big a fan of Man Who Sold the World, Ziggy, and Hunky Dory (with a nod to Pinups, too) era Bowie.....it's pretty cool to me.....and usually hate that cross cover shit. like Denver's only decent Jazz station where they used to play real stuff....went soft under new management and turned into a baby boomer shithole where they played "jazzy" versions of Beatles and Bob Marley songs. put me in an elevator, please?
but i like the Bowie songs as per seu jorge.

this CD has full versions and more cuts than the "soundtrack". no seu jorge version of search and destroy, though. ;)
i really dig it. Starman and Suffraggette CIty are both killer. and Space Oddity is great. I do, however, disagree with the reviewer at the above link insofar as "island sweetness"...Quicksand is played to the proper tone as the Bowie original. it doesn't sound like Jimmy Buffet singing "Himmler's sacred realm of dream reality..." .
