c.s.dook looked very tired.
they turned too many $20 tricks this season.
if they can pull 2 or 3 games in the ACC Tourney...and then run off the PERFECT 6 in the "Tournament"....g0d bless them--->i was wrong.
'Heels 1st win @ c.s.dook since 2001.
~isn't that a Daisy....
Carolina needs to get their discpline back...way to helter-skelter down the Stretch for a Roy Williams Team.
young and learning....they had better LEARN from their mistakes in this WIN!
this is where I say...FUCK DUKE as well.

January 1, 2010....we're having DUCK for Dinner...

That the best you can do? Genius. OK.....and no thanks, don't need my fries supersized.Mikey wrote:Fuck Duke.
That's all.
Anyhow, I can't help but agree with Cicero. While Carolina has a huge rotation of guys getting plenty of minutes...and experience, K goes with just a few and they looked incredibly tired. Redick barely caught iron on one 3 pt. attempt....from the top of the key, no less. This team is done. They'll be lucky to make Sweet 16.
And any of my banging on Duke takes away from Carolina's effort. They went into a tough place to play, with a young lineup, and played terrific. Tough for me to say, but I like the way Carolina plays. Nothing fancy, just get the job done. And that Hansbrough is something else. A special type of player who's shots always roll in instead of out. Hmmm, wonder if because he's white and good and is a decent person, people will hate him too. Probably not.

RACK that, he is some kind of player. Hope he goes pro in the next year or two.Mustang wrote: And that Hansbrough is something else. And people (not saying you) expect this kid to be a star on the next level?Cicero wrote:Indy, I agree that almost everyone has played close to 30 games, but no one has played more minutes and had to play at such a high level as Redick has. The guy gets bumped and banged all game. It has taken a toll on his shot.
I agree with Indy's point. Redick is in his 4th year, so he should be used to the minutes by now. He should also be used to the bumping, etc. And if he's not, that falls on K, like you originally said.

Of course he is. Doesn't every team use three off-the-ball players to set constant picks just so one guy can get an open look?Killian wrote:And people (not saying you) expect this kid to be a star on the next level?Cicero wrote:Indy, I agree that almost everyone has played close to 30 games, but no one has played more minutes and had to play at such a high level as Redick has. Amazing. I almost replied to him with “That’s the coach’s fault” but abstained because it’s like talking to a wall with Homer Simpson’s face painted on it.Killian wrote:And people (not saying you) expect this kid to be a star on the next level?Cicero wrote:Indy, I agree that almost everyone has played close to 30 games, but no one has played more minutes and had to play at such a high level as Redick has. Can't think of anyone who said he'd be a "star" at the next level. And yes, everyone else is tired too, but remember that EVERYONE gets stoked to play Duke. Duke doesn't get any off-nights. And Redick's been carrying the team for most of the season. Most players don't have to do that. Hansbrough does (as a freshman, no less!) but big men never run around wildly like Redick does. Call it being weak, out of shape, wear and tear, or whatever you want but that team is tired. Memo to Coach K.....try playing a few of those McDonalds all americans sitting on the bench during the last 8 minutes of the game when you have a 20 pt. lead. But just watch......if they get to Sweet 16, everyone will whine about them being there and that they're overrated, suck, etc. The minute they lose, the same idiots will say there's no way they should lose with all that talent.

Precisely. I don't give a rat's ass about scoring records or little individual awards. I do care about deep runs into the NCAA Tournament. And when you play only 7-8 players every night, with your stars going nearly 40 every time out against teams that are jacked sky high because the emperor is in town, chances are, eventually, you're going to run out of steam. Redick's been awesome in carrying the team but doesn't wear a cape. A little help and a little rest couldn't hurt.
Duke for the most part is a two-man team. If both guys have off nights, they'll lose. I definitely put U-Conn on the top of the mountain right now. Duke is in that next group of teams with Texas, Villanova, Ohio State, and Gonzaga as far as contenders are concerned. I really like Duke going into the season but U-Conn is the most complete team in country right now and I'd take them against the rest of the field.

Those kids are usually top 5 players in the states of North Carolina and Virginia. ;)MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:How come Coach K has never recruited for depth? Everytime I see them play, and catch a glimpse of their bench, it's a bunch of pasty white kids with high and tight haircuts who have never taken off their warm up jerseys.

Considering that their other great players are infront of them I don't see how. :DMgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Well that doesn't say much for those states if their best players are riding the pine.
Duke averages what.... 3 or 4 McD's AA a year? Someone has to be on the bench.

I agree. Coach K has always limited his reserves role though. Even while at Army he did such. Just his style of play I suppose. Can't say it hasn't been very successful with two national titles under his belt.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:If they're that good, Coach K might want to think about putting them and give his starters a breather...and a chance to win a title.
