Player 1
I'm assuming #2 is Aldridge and #1 is Gray?

Yeah it wasn't that obvious to the coaches in the Big 12.
I can't wait for CP3 to lay that lanky hooker on her back again in the tourney.
Player 2 got the award because they are a senior and player #1 got screwed because miss BS down in Wacko lobbying for a girl who lost twice head to head and was out played not only in both games but in evey facet of league play as well.
Player #1 led a team selected 4th in the conference at preseason to an undefeated conference schedule while player #2 was on a team defending the national title with all but two players back and finished second.
They'll probably give Bullarky the frigging coach of the year award despite underachiving.
I had little resepct for the Booler coach before this weekend but now I have none. I wish I knew what the LSU coach said about her a couple of weeks ago but I am willing to bet I would agree with her.

Are you not talking about Sphia and CP3?Believe the Heupel wrote:Er, SCS, I think you're confused on who those players are. Check the rebounding numbers.
I may have mixxed up 1 and 2 in my post... I'll recheck it but I thought I had the players correct.

Player 2 gets 8 to 12 more minutes a game than player 1 and only scores 0.8 more points a game. I think that would kind of put a damper on the whole more polished argument. :D As far as assists go it's rare that player 1 gets the ball and doesn't 1)score a basket or 2) get to the line because she is so dominant down low. Just sayin'.Believe the Heupel wrote:I can make a case for both players, by the way. Player 1 is a much more dominant defensive player as evidenced by 5 more rebounds per game and 71 more blocked shots. Player 2 is a bit more polished offensively as shown by her higher PPG and almost triple assists. Player 1 shoots a higher percentage, but Player 2 plays further from the basket.
Anyone who watches a lick of Big 12 womens hoops has to be rather upset or embarressed by this. When OUInsider has fans from Kansas and Okie State on their board offering appologies for the voting I think it is a good indicator that something wrong occurred.

She does but I keep up with Women's bball (flame away) and CP3 has been one of the three most dominant players in womens hoops hands down. She should win freshman of the year without a second thought and should be in the top 3 for POY nationaly much less her own conference. The only other players I can think that could even hold a candle to her this season are Parker from Tennessee and the PG at Duke whose name escapes me right noe for some reason (want to say it is Neisha something or other though).Believe the Heupel wrote:Player 2 also stays out of foul trouble more than Player 1. The more polished game comment comes from Player 2's ability to hit a midrange jumper and the ability to get the ball to open teammates-something player 1 will likely improve on this offseason.
Hey, man, I voted for Player 1. I just didn't know if the hue and cry from OU fans was legit or if we were looking through crimson-tinted glasses. Young has some darn nice stats.
When has anyone ever heard of player getting a double double in every single game except one the entire season... as a freshman no less?

Hard to pick against any player averaging over 20 points a game. I'd go with #1 since they average a double-double each game and shoot better from the field and block more shots...assuming these are both primarily low post players. Gotta like the steals and assists and the free throw shooting of #2 though.
