Martellus Bennett even got some playing time. THAT'S when you know AtM is issuing a beatdown.

NO SOUP FOR YOU TOMORROW, AGGIE!

Was watching the game with my brother today. We started off with a 9-2 deficit and my brother, an Aggie alum who could care less about Aggie sports, said "Looks like the Ags are going to get killed." I said, "No way, we'll come back." Didn't think we'd put that big a hurt on them, but damned if we didn't.

t.u. tomorrow. Looking forward to it. Glad I'm in Texas visiting my folks this weekend so I can watch the games. They're not being shown in Indiana where I live.

Hell yeah it's okay.

Sin,
Crown

:D

But yeah, you're right. We just have too many guys that think, foolishly, that they've got a shot at the league, and they're gonna wake up really soon and realize, "hey, I could have done more in college."

The next time Terrell or AJ are in position on D will be the first. Taj was playing like a man possessed... by the spirit of all things Christopher Lowell, and Neal fell quite chilly.

Fcuk.

Skull what game did you watch? Wasn't the same one that I did obviously. Other than your assessment of Terrel I gotta disagree. Did Taj put up nice stats? Yeah he did but he was just as horrible if not more than any one on the defensive end. Bookout had absolutly no fire and hasn't for some time. I am a big Bookout fan but Jesus it's like he just doesn't give a damn anymore.

Our underclassmen Guards played absolutly phenomenal last night on the offensive end. Phenomenal, if someone where to tell me that our underclassmen were going to be knocking down the three ball last night in the manner they were I would have swore we would have won the game 30+. AJ had some lapses on the defensive end of the court and got out of position a couple of times but come on he is a True freshman and weighs less than some women I know. Terrel is a senior and should have known better. TE should have also have used his damn head instead of letting his emotions get the better of him the entire game, picking up some of the dumbest fouls I have seen committed by a Sooner in Ages.

I really gotta say that I think we will be better next year than this with less talent and younger players.

I haven't read the Sooner Boards and frankly I don't want to. This season isn't Sampson's fault. What would any of us have done different? This senior class, for all its damn talent, has absolutly no heart. I really wanted to throw in some colorful expletives that last sentence but I digress. As great of kids and as great a people they may be there is not a leader amongst them, period. That is the single biggest thing this team is lacking, a leader, an emotional leader, on the damn court. Our underclassmen were possessed not Taj. Austin Johnson hit more clutch threes last night alone than he had the entire season to date. Even Godbold, Godfriggingbold, was knocking down the tre last night. What more could we have asked for? Taj and especially Kevin are going to look back on this season and really regret it. I don't know how they act in practice cause I ain't there but I'll be damned if any of the three has a clue about how to be a leader on the damn court.

At least OUr women can play with fire, and as horrible as this sounds because it is womens' college bball, play with more fire and a hell of a lot more exciting to watch than our mens team. CP3 is a true Freshman and is already 3X the leader, both emotionaly and generalship wise as anyone on the Men's team. Thank God I don't have to choose between watching the men and the women tonight because by God I would watch Courtney, Ashley, Erin, Chelsi, Kristi, and Leah long before I watch our five men jog up and down the court with no emotion like a bunch of 15 year NBA Vets just pulling a paycheck.

Yeah, he was... he's not moving his feet the way he did last year. I'd rather he play well and get into foul trouble than play poorly for 40 minutes. Also, while I'm on the subject, he seems to think that "foul trouble" is what the NBA scouts care about when actually it's pretty much everything else about his game that they're concerned with.

Bookout had absolutly no fire and hasn't for some time. I am a big Bookout fan but Jesus it's like he just doesn't give a damn anymore.

He doesn't. Most of the core of this team is going out and partying WAY too often, and Book likely feels like, "why put in the work myself if nobody else is?"

Our underclassmen Guards played absolutly phenomenal last night on the offensive end. Phenomenal, if someone where to tell me that our underclassmen were going to be knocking down the three ball last night in the manner they were I would have swore we would have won the game 30+.

My turn to ask you. Were you watching the same game I was? Godbold was 3-8 and AJ banked in a three. Yeah, I know it counts, and he shot 50% for the game, which is nice, but he's also a mediocre defender at best and his game management is lacking in pretty much every area. At least he only had one turnover. Also, are you counting Nate as a guard? He was 1-7. Nobody was hitting shots when we needed them, and our ability to box out, ESPECIALLY from the "young guards" might be why Nebbish had a guard get 10 boards on us.

----------

As for everything else...

Emotional Leader? Try leader, period... especially offensively. Right now, just like the WHOLE year, we're standing around on the offensive end of the court, watching whoever is dribbling the ball instead of setting screens and moving through the defensive zone, forcing them to react. Our shots come when someone psuedo-penetrates (and I say that because we don't have ANYBODY that can consistantly get to the basket with dribble penetration and get off a good shot) and the defense over-collapses... but even then we have to hope that it's not Terrell and he feels like jacking up an 18 foot floater over three people anyway, trying to get his scoring average up for scouts when really, all they're going to need to see is his inability to get off a quick shot, his poor, poor handle, and his defensive concentration.

...and then there's the posts. They aren't even TRYING to box people out... just out-jump them. Needless to say, Book doesn't win too many of those battles. Taj can, but he usually just fouls. It's probably easier anyway.

This is a team that read their press clippings. Personally, I'd say "fuck it" to the seniors and also show the incoming freshman that ANYBODY can play, and even start, by going with this starting lineup...

AJ, DG, Nate, Taylor, Longar.

Oklahoma did a terrible job against the 2-3 and box and one (on Neal) that NU threw at em. it was like mid january all over again.....beat a zone by throwing the ball around the perimeter until the shot clock gets to about 8 seconds and throw up some knucklehead shot.

we were lucky that Knight, Barnes, and E. Sutton were too hard headed to actually play zone....or we might be hosting an NIT game.

Now I can agree with most of that post. AJ shot 3-8 from behind the arc; that's pretty damn good for a true frosh. He isn't expected to be JJ Reddick is he? Godbold went 0-4 in the first half from behind the arc, hence he went 3 of 4 in the second half. Pretty damn good for someone who rarely gets the oppertunity to take a shot. Neal did shoot poorly but he was the only Guard who did so in the second half. Our guards do need to learn to box out more on the boards but other than Terrel (who was the worst of them all at it last night) they are all underclassmen with what.... one player who was actualy on the team last year (Godbold)? Just sayin'. We knew coming in that Guard play might possibly be a liability but they weren't half the liabilty the seniors were last night.

As far as Bookout goes. If the relationship he has with Taj is all they say it is and he is a senior it is position to be that leader who calls these kids who are partying too damn much out and set them straight. That is what you expect from your leaders. While you may be correct that, that is his attitude, it isn't the attitude of a leader and once again that is what we really lack on this team. :(

WTF Sooners, we're tryin' like hell to get rid of Collier and you guys mail in that effort. As most of you said, had OU not hit so many 3's in the first 10 minutes of the second half that sucker wouldn't have been close.
OU made NU look like a quick team. Richardson did a great job bring the ball up and Jamal White is turning into a real player.

I hope like hell Pederson pulls the trigger on Collier, he's not a game time coach, but a win like that will make the "you fired Solich at 9-3 and fired Barry after beating MU and OU in the tourney" hate crowd, surface all over again.

I can't imagine the corner Pederson will be painted in if they beat KU today.

Naw.
