interesting matchup: Syracuse/A&M

Post by King Crimson »

one of the infamous 5/12 games. both teams playing their best basketball of the season. Cuse went from the bubble to 5 seed in the last week: last second gamewinner dumps Cincy from the Dance.. beat the #1 team in the country. won the conference. A&M silenced its critics by beating UT (legit top 10 team), winning at Tech, demolishing bubble Colorado....and playing UT down to the wire on a neutral floor.

Part of me thinks that this matchup was put together by the committee to set us up for an embarrassment with one of the hottest teams in the country to expose our OOC schedule. We're going to have to play our best game against this team, and that still may not be enough.

I'm praying for some March Madness Magic in this one. I'd love for this to be one of the 5/12 upsets we see so often. I just hope like hell it is on TV here...

Cuse are playing out of their minds right now. I think they'll win pretty handily

Well, just checked and we are in the same timeslot as Duke so I don't know if I'll see much of this game. Hopefully Duke will be the expected blowout and the other games get some run during this time. I only have the local CBS so my hopes aren't high.

that sucks. you might try the on demand CBS thing on your computer....that's getting advertised. if you have a fast connection.

i could see Billy G. ugly it up and keep the game in the 50-60's. and that gives you a chance. i really like Joseph Jones. he's a solid player.

dial-up. no dice. thaks for the link though.

JJ is good but he is raw. I still don't see why we don't get him the ball more. Let him force some things and get to the line like we did all season. Lately, IF they dump it in to him and he gets a double team, he is kicking it out and we launch a 3. At some point, we're going to get cold from 3 and he needs to draw some contact.

McNamara is playing out of his mind right now. He single-handedly won the 4 games for Syracuse in the Big East Tournament.

Mcnamara hit clutch shots, but still I couldn't disagree more. In the win over UCONN Syracuse had five guys scoring in the double digits and Detetrius Nichols has been playing phenomenal since this little winning streak started.

I'm not too worried about McNamara or any other player on Syracuse. A&M's defense is one of the best in the country. I just hope we can out-ugly them. I'll take a 46-42 victory.

It all depends on whether Jeckyl or Hyde shows up for us. Typically, we don't do well on the road. This being a "neutral" site and many fans cheering for the underdog...who knows.
