March Madness 1st Round

Post by Cicero »

Seton Hall and Oklahoma need to get their ass in gear. Down double digits w/ 10 minutes to play.

Luckily had both of them losing in the next round, but damnit, represent the big conferences by not bowing out in the 1st round.

More reason that Cincinnati should have been in over Seton Hall.

Pacific makes the nice comeback to force OT and now has a 6 point lead on BC.

I had them both losing today.
Rule of thumb: (this has never failed.)
If a tournament team lost to the University of Nebraska during the regular season, they go home the first time they play.

OU not only lost to NU once, but twice.
Marquette, would be next.

Also Wichita St. was the best team in the Mo. Valley.
I've got them beating Tenn. in the second round.

You're a fucking idiot and I could have told you that... unless turnovers is a positive stat in your draft.

...and spare me the "Everett doesn't turn the ball over much" crap. If you've watched him play, as far as I'm concerned, half of his shots result in turnovers. It's just not an "official" stat.

Syracuse ran out of gas. Quite the dilemma. Win the Big East tourney and be gassed or lose early in the Big East Tourney and end up in the NIT.

The Tournament has been awesome so far. Oh St had to rally and Iowa is stunned by the Demons.

Big East and Big 10 champs out in the 1st Round.

How ugly is that floor at Oakland? All black inside the 3 point line, including the lane.

Points, assists, and rebounds are all we count in our fantasy draft. Everett did pretty good in game 1, but one hit wonders aren't worth shit for the long haul. I picked him with the 90th pick of the draft out of 100 which I thought was a steal considering I thought I would at least get 2, maybe 3 games out of him.

ORU giving Memphis everything it can handle.

Nice ally-oop by ORU to go up by four earlier. They are not intimidated at all by the Tigers, and the crowd in Dallas is pulling big-time for the underdog.

So I was running an errand downtown here in Philly and saw four UConn players out walking around. I briefly considered my options, ranging from doing nothing to going Jeff Gillooly on one of them. I just said "good luck tonight, guys" and went on.

greensboro takes the cake. those colors are more appropriate for a pyramid scheme makeup convention than basketball. i keep thinking Barney will come dancing out and declare that this is "hiz house".

I'm sure that's what Northern Iowa was thinking earlier today.

I couldn't believe that it actually was The Palace. Oakland University (Rochester, MI / Mid-Continent) is the host school for that site and their school colors are black and gold. I could deal with the black inside the arc but in the lane as well...that was an eye sore. Great drama on the court yesterday with Iowa going down and Bradley edging out Kansas.

Kansas out in the 1st round 2 years running?

Mich St???? Biggest disappointment of the season. I was fucking stupid and had them in the Elite 8. My only real mistake in the tourney so far.

Greatest 1st Round that I can remember.

RACK Bucknell for making it past the first round, again, by beating Arkansas.
Closest I have to a local interest to root for, since Lewisburg, PA is a two hour drive
north from where I'm at, a nice scenic drive on US 11/15 up the Susquehanna River valley,
past the landscape dotted with roadside adult "bookstores".
