that quote about Mikan is amazing. we did that gawdammned Mikan drill for hours on end in junior high basketball. but, you know what, i don't play too much pick up hoops anymore, but i can shoot it with my left hand from inside about 15 feet with pretty decent confidence--thanks to Geroge Mikan. i can still stick the 3 like nobody's business.

I read an article in the local fishwrap this morning that called Meyer "the John Wooden of the Midwest".
The big difference is, Wooden won a bunch of championships at UCLA.
