i don't see what your point is. the CSA did ultimately win. the rest of the US has been trying to pretend the resulting mess doesn't exist -- when it isn't dragged kicking and screaming into honoring the constitution -- ever since.

What? I don't see what his point is. Just like I don't see how 88 could actually sit there and claim that life was good for everyone in the 1800s and that's why there were so many immigrants who wanted to come over.
