Dell Laptop deals from Dell@home

Post by ElTaco »

I haven't seen anyone looking for decent deals but here are a few from Dell:

Dell Inspiron 1300 Notebook, Pentium M 1.70GHz, 15.4" WXGA, 512MB, 40GB, CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo, XP Home, 802.11b/g WLAN » only $623.00 + Free Shipping

Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook, Intel Core Duo Processor 1.66GHz, 15.4" WXGA+, 512MB, 40GB, CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo, XP Media Center, 802.11b/g WLAN » only $749.00 + Free Shipping

Dell Inspiron 710m Notebook, Pentium M 1.7GHz, 12.1" WXGA, 512MB, 60GB, 8x DL DVD±RW/±R/CD-RW, XP Home, 802.11b/g WLAN » only $999.00 + Free Shipping

These are some fairly hot deals and since they are from the Dell@home branch, it makes it easy to order. They do use some Mail in Rebates, but I haven't had any problems with them from Dell in the past.

Nice. My only objection would be that its an XPS system but it uses Shared Video Ram, however, with a Gig of ram, you shouldn't have too much problems dedicating 128 or even 256mb to your video needs.

Let us know how well it plays new games.

I'm not using it to play games, hence why the shared video didn't bother me. Basically, it's just going to be a personal travel laptop to watch some movies and surf the net on planes, hotels, vacations, etc.

Spent an hour removing all the friggin' useless software that they put in their computers.

Yeah the extra junk they put on there is always fun....wait no games? Blasphemy!
Anyway, thats why most companies order systems in groups and they do fresh installs on the drives. Its always entertaining to run antispyware software on a brand new system. anti-spyware software people have decided that too much crap gets sent back to Dell in some circumstances without our expressed permission and have labled some of that junk as spyware.
