This should get Amaker fired by itself.

Alex Legion, Michigan's star recruit for the 2007 season de-committed today. This is the 4th blue chip player give a verbal and then de-commit in the last 4 years.

I thought he was a good recruiter, but he can't coach X's and 0's and he can't get the big guns.
Those who stay will be champions.

He's also not going back to Country Day and heading to Oak Hill, or whatever that school is on the east coast that recruits like a mother fucker. Me thinks the bagman got him.

I'm listening WXYT online...his mother is on the Sports Inferno right now. It sounds like he's still interested in Michigan but he's going to Oak Hill to play with kids more at his skill level. There's still a chance he could commit to Michigan after all is said and done.

Bull-fucking-shit. Not knocking you, you're just reporting what you heard, but there is no way he's going there because people are so far below his skill level. He's being recruited, just like he was to DCD, just like he is for college. The kid is 17 and already developing the reputation as a carpet bagger.

The topic being discussed heavily on the Sports Inferno right now...a lot of different theories. Is he trying to market himself to other schools? Is he doing this to go against his mother? It does sound like he's going to be a 2 years and out guy so whoever gets him won't be around for long.

Wow, what poor interpretation skills you have. i never said EVERYONE. Those with the potential to be the NUMBER ONE OVERALL PICK like Oden USUALLY go pro.

Oden is 7'0" and someone said 265.....with the lack of true centers in the NBA, he situation seems like he should GO PRO.

This is too simple for some people to grasp.

PS Noah may go pro, who could blame him? Steve Lavin was on ESPN saying that early intell is that all four spohs are staying. They have all been living together since their frosh season and would like to stick together. Will that happen? Who knows?

^^^^apparently you can't grasp simple sarcasm...hence the :meds:

anyway to your last point...wow can we have a discussion about this/

I would hope they would stay...they stand a very good chance of potentially repeating next year (obviously they might be a higher seed in the tournament thus theoretically making the road easier) or they could flop as juniors...hard to argue that FLA wouldn't be preseason #1 or #2 depending on any defections...I like the chemistry these kids have and they play hard, reckless (in a good way), and as a team...and yes they are VERY talented...plus Donovan knows how to push the right buttons...i mean FLA was never challeneged in the tournament...heck they got better games from South Carolina who was 2-1 against them this past year...

I think I saw where SI had OSU as a preseason #6 or something like that next year...not sure I agree...I mean Oden, Cook, conley, and lightly as well as harrington are a super class...but they could flop...who knows...but they will be talented and they will have Butler, Harris, Terwilliger, and Lewis back who all played a bunch this year...

now we can continue a good discussion or keep lobbing the i said you said card...

I heard SH might go after Laranaga (sp?) from George Mason. I would think he could do a little better.

Isn't this always the case...a small school goes on a 2 or 3 game run in the tournament and then a big conference also-ran steals their coach away.

The guy that I'm really surprised never went anywhere was Mark Few.

Gonzaga made an Elite 8 run in '99, I believe, and their coach, Dan Monson, promptly left for Minnesota (ironically, Minnesota was their first round victim that year, the academic scandal broke just before their game against Gonzaga and it ultimately claimed Haskins' job). Few has, in fact, taken the program to an even higher level. You would've thought that he would've left by now.

Wasn't Indiana talking to Few before they hired Sampson?

Saw that on ESPN at lunch. Apparently Gonzalez became less attractive because he was going to bring in an assitant, Julius Allen, whom we just fired.

Fresh off of ESPN's College Basketball Front Page

Sources: Seton Hall to hire Manhattan's GonzalezBy Andy Katz
ESPN.com

Seton Hall is expected to announce Manhattan's Bobby Gonzalez as its next men's basketball coach at a news conference Friday, multiple sources told ESPN.com Thursday.

Gonzalez scheduled a team meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday to tell them of his decision.

Multiple sources told ESPN.com that Gonzalez was chosen late Wednesday night. Seton Hall athletic director Joe Quinlan began telling other candidates Thursday morning that the school was going in another direction.

Also, just heard a rumor that Mike Davis may be the new coach at UAB.
