Cast iron skillets for making burgers
Should I purchase one of these bastards? I hear they are money for making burgers..... you grind the chuck yourself, round out a patty and slap it on the iron skillet, turning only once. And the results are epic.
It'll work.
I prefer to do mine on the Weber, though. You get that flame broiled flavor and a lot less cleanup. Don't grind my own either. I go with the 10% fat ground round from Costco. Very lean and a lot better quality than the Sam's Club product, and only about $2.50/lb for a 5 or 6 lb tray. I take the whole thing and make a dozen burgers. Keep four out to cook for dinner (for my fambly of four) and freeze the remaing eight in bags of four for later use.

Like their pans. Their Knives not so much.Dinsdale wrote:If you're going to pony up big for a skillet/pan, make sure it says Saladmaster on it.
Same goes for kitchen knives.
Excellent products for the high-end market.
