bode cali, I 'spose. so why do they all live in florida now? I'm guessing that tiger's florida residence keeps more than a few million clams/yr out of the cali coffers.

I think being able to play year-round has lot to do with the west coast and the Sun Belt for producing the most golfers. The same can be said about college baseball...isn't every great team from the Pac-10, SEC or the state of Texas?
I think it's more coincidence. There's a shitload of people from the left coast and the south these days, so there is a good chance that many of the top players are from these areas. The fact that you can play year around means there are probably more golfers, but, anybody with talent enough to make it to the top is not gonna let restricted playing time get in the way. Just ask Palmer and Nicholas. Both from the cold ass mid west (Ohio, western PA).

back when jack and arnie were kicking everyone's ass, sports weren't a year-round thing yet. dudes still took the winter off and showed up for spring training out of shape, if you get my baseball analogy. that doesn't happen anymore in most if not all sports.

I thought I had made the inference that they were skating on state tax in general, not just ca state tax, which, I am certain is among the most oppressive.
