Fans of shitty teams...
How do you do it? The Blues fucking suck like no tomorrow, and watching their games is like pulling teeth.
How do fans of shitty franchises entertain themselves durting shitty games they feel obligated to watch?

Parcells got rid of that smiling center.Bizzarofelice wrote:so what about before the Patriots got the sweet new uniforms and were mired in the suck for a decade?
How did Nor-easter fan survive?
Brought them to the Super Bowl, called Terry Glenn "she"....
I was always there, bro.

For quite some time, I had to watch the 'Sox, Bruins, Pats & Celts suck at all different times. As a kid, however I was constantly playing sports (Hockey baseball & football) getting my own justice.
Nowadays, I'm pretty good at ping pong. I swear, I'd light you up.

You don't even know. The suburban St. Louis home of Youngfelice was about finished basements, kegs of Busch in an old fridge with a tap drilled into the door and ping pong. Back row middle has some skillz on the ping pong table including a wicked serve hidden behind a turned back.

Detroit fan has no idea.Bizzarofelice wrote:How do you do it?
Sin,
Red Wings - best team in NHL
Pistons - best team in NBA
Tigers - tied for best overall record in MLB
Unfortunately, I don't quite qualify for this seeing as I hate the Wings.

does Detroit have a football franchise?
I'm watching the Blues game and entertaining myself by trying to remember names from the past. Hell, half the Blues roster just came up from Peoria so it ain't like I know their names. "#10? They brought back Jimmy Campbell?!?! Go get 'em, Pellerin!"

If they are above .500 after April, we might be in for a good season. Traditionally, the Tigers start poorly and are behind the 8-ball by the time the calendar turns to May. I look at this start as encouraging but consider the opposition and I'd like to see a couple of turns in the rotation before I judge this team fully. I like what I see but to be honest, starting the 5-1 is no different that any team winning 5 of 6 during a part of the season...it just looks good when you say they're 5-1 right now. They play 25 games in April...if they have at least 13 wins by May 1, I'd say it's a successful start.

We'll see...
I can at least say with confidence that those teams won't come into each series with the advantage as far as managers are concerned. Leyland is the first manager since Sparky that I feel comfortable about and hopefully he can keep the clubhouse from falling apart like the guys that came before him.

They've shown flashes in the past of being able to slug with the big boys...just need to keep everyone healthy. The pitching is still a question mark...I don't expect Verlander throw seven innings of shutout ball every time out. I think this team just needs to avoid the big slumps that they're famous for. It shouldn't be too much to ask this team to win more than half of their games this year.

1pm, home opener vs the defending champs. I'm going to go home for lunch and catch the first hour of this one.Shoalzie wrote:MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:At the very least, they'll score some runs on people this year.

Hopefully Shelton will be back on track and drop a bomb or two.

OK try this one on...
Buffalo fan (me)
endured 4 straight super bowl losses...if it wasnt "wide Right", tey got their brains kicked in. those Super Bowl paties made for a lot of depression drinking.
followed closely by the Music City Miracle, alledgely "throw back" which everyone knows was a forward lateral.
Hockey...The sabres getting totally ass fucked on the Brett Hull "no Goal"
losing the NBA franchise... we represent small market inferiority complex like no other.
