I'm guessing Wright's conversation will go something along the lines of "Are you nuts? I've got a GREAT situation here."
Wasn't Jay Wright a Massimino assistant? Isn't he a Philly guy?

Puzzling.

Jay Wright's a Villanova guy through and through. I can't possibly see him leaving that job for any other in the country.

And since I just said that, it probably means that he's already signed a contract with OU. :D

War Stoops wrote:Like I said, Suncoast, my post wasn't directed at you. I'm mostly just sick of Traber, Eschbach, etc. who shout down anyone who dares question the greatness of Kelvin Sampson.

That being said, you make an incorrect assumption when you bring up the coaches prior to Sampson. Nowhere did I say that we were better off before Sampson was hired. I do happen to think that Billy was a better coach but that's beside the point. My point is that losing Sampson is not the crushing blow that some would have you believe. If (God forbid) I was Joe C. would I have fired KS? Nope. But do I think that OU is lost without him? Hell no. The Sooners can do better...and by better I mean regular season conference crowns and NCAA tournament wins.

BTW, winning the Conference Tourney and $0.99 will get you a song on iTunes...or a memorable night with Vito's boyfriend.
So then we should quit harping on our forty conference football titles then shouldn't we. :meds:

TTT not to rehash my spat with SunCoast but to re-mention Tim Floyd for the OU job. There are reliable reports that Floyd has moved to the top of the list and is interested. Of course, the phrase "reliable reports" no longer has meaning to me after 7 days of this coaching search.

The only people who know anything at this point are Joe C., and David Boren.

This could be a done deal...

Meh

I'm not too fired up about this (potential) hire. I like Hobbs but I'm not convinced that an East Coast guy can prosper in Oklahoma.

We'll see.

AMEN. I can't believe we even considered Turgeon after the shit he said about us circa 1989. The fact that he was a "canidate" and such at a "deceitful, dishonest, and cheating" program should be a black mark on his career alone. :meds:

i'd put the "no way" stamp on Al Skinner.

i'd rather lose than have Turgeon, just to be juvenile about it. I loved the 80's OU teams and Turgeon was a prick.

Larry Brown left them on probation, but according to Turgeon OU was the dirty prgram.
