The All-Unsung Hero Team (all time)

Post by WhatsMyName »

Build an all-time team of guys who would make ONE BAD ASS TEAM, yet the players at each position aren't the Joe Montana's or Jim Browns of the world. Feel free to pick and choose which positions you want to include (notice I didn't choose linemen). Here goes...

OFFENSE

QB: Phil Simms, NYG
RB: Roger Craig, SF
FB: Howard Griffith, DEN
WR: John Taylor, SF
WR: Rod Smith, DEN
TE: Jay Novacek, DAL

DEFENSE

MLB: Karl Mecklenburg, DEN
OLB: Greg Lloyd, PIT
OLB: Kevin Greene, PIT
SS: Mike Brown, CHI
FS: LeRoy Butler, GB
CB: Aeneas Williams, AZ

Without the guys in the trenches, the rest would be pissing in the wind.

A team is only as good as the linemen.

The fact that you intentionally left out linemen speaks volumes about your knowledge of the NFL.

Are you trying to be an icsf replacement, or were you one in the same to begin with?

Hmmm...

I see you working... however, let's be real. Linemen don't get a lot of pub... especially those who are considered "Unsung Heros" as per the thread topic. If you can seriously sit there and name a bunch of faceless (read as: dudes who never played for your team) linemen who weren't considered the best at their position... well... I'll just call bullshit in advance. Also, how can you tell if a lineman is an "Unsung Hero"?? It's not as if you can sit there and say "he did the little things" that don't get noticed. Bitch, please. It's his job to do the things that don't get noticed. Do you see where this is going? He's a fucking lineman. Go ahead, dipshit. Start naming names. Linemen who were "Unsung Heros". They all are, you fucking twit. Let's listen to Whitey weigh in on this topic: "Yeah.. that guy was no Mike Webster... you know... that dude who got credit for all being the 236th best Pittsburgh Steeler of all-time. Yeah... so anyways... he was no Mike Webster, but he sure could play. He did the little things". :meds:

I don't know how "unsung" they'd be, since they were damned popular players out here in WNY:

Darryl Talley
Cornelius Bennett

The 90's Bills wouldn't have been the same without those two guys...

LOL, I guess "Whitey" got served per usual so let's move on...

Good takes on the linemen part always being unsung. That's basically the point - there are players playing positions of glory, who still don't get the recognition, usually because they are overshadowed by other players on their own team or other teams.

The 90's Bills should be the poster boys for unsung heroes, namely b/c they never won a title. Steve Tasker is a prime example.

Holy shit. I deserve to be smacked in the head with a 2x4 for not dropping Tasker's name...

..then again, he was my favorite Bills player (and the guy is on our local radio constantly), so I kind of forgot that a lot folks don't remember him.

You "see me working", but let's be "real", eh?

Otay, this should be fun.
Linemen don't get a lot of pub... especially those who are considered "Unsung Heros" as per the thread topic.
Are YOU, like, seriously, going to the "stick to the thread topic" card towards moi?

What if I don't want to? What if I want to smack the icsf re-incarnation WMN attention whore upside the head to see what spills out?

Will a Ucunt object and attempt to impede the process?

Well, she might...by the looks of things. But that won't make any impact, so let's proceed.
If you can seriously sit there and name a bunch of faceless (read as: dudes who never played for your team) linemen who weren't considered the best at their position... well... I'll just call bullshit in advance.
It's pretty much a given that an O-line's or D-line's performance is graded as a unit (read as: team), regardless of which team it is that they play for.

It's like really cute to underline stuff, eh Ucunt?
Also, how can you tell if a lineman is an "Unsung Hero"?? It's not as if you can sit there and say "he did the little things" that don't get noticed.
Who cares? I judge them as a team, first and foremost. Any of this "best of unsung heroes" bullshit is just that. As is the premise of the thread, started by a shit troll seeking board cred. (I guess you can identify, eh Ucunt?) Leaving out lineman just adds to the insult.
Bitch, please. It's his job to do the things that don't get noticed. Do you see where this is going? He's a fucking lineman. Go ahead, dipshit. Start naming names. Linemen who were "Unsung Heros". Took you awhile to warm up, but once you did, you went into full fledged meltdown mode as quickly as a Mustang goes from 30 mph to 90 mph in a school zone.

Look on the bright side, though.

You got racked by Lames.

This thread is total bullshit... there is no such thing as an Unsung Hero. In my eyes, there is no color... no creed... no race. We should all be graded as a team of HUMAN BEINGS.

Agreed. I root for "the wall" to win every race. Usually it wins a battle here and there but can never take enough victims to win the war and end the "sport" (notice the quotes).

What should be noticed about the quotation marks?

That you're dumber than a wall?

LOL, couldn't this unfunny, Egon Spangler-lookalike consolidate all his boring, unclever shit into one single post? The Sultan of Suck is to the NFL forum what he and JTR are to the other one.

While Whitey Wagon might suck ass when it comes to smack, at least he isn't funny too.

Seriously wags are your problems with the thread or with the person that started it?

it seems to me that it would be easier to simply ignore the thread if you feel it's not worth your time....instead, you take it upon yourself to deem what is worthy in this forum and what is not......

you know the drill--if it has no merit it will drop soon enough.....

instead you invite another pile-on.....

we've had this discussion before wags but it seems nothing is getting through...

if your problem is with the author.......well, you'll have to take it up with him....

btw....this one has archives written all over it.....

LOL
