Look, my fraternity (Crows, circa 1985) was a haven for pot-smoking, tie-dyed, long-haired freaks who commandeered every party stereo with their Dead bootlegs ("hey man, is that Altamont '73?") and genuinely considered using our house fund to purchase a "Magic Bus" to shuttle folks to shows. Our logo was an "AXP" painted on a Pink Floyd-inspired wall. We had little sisters decked out in batiked(sp?) skirts and that we called "Doves." We were the antifraternity fraternity. Every time our National rep would come to town for a visit, my job was to get the guy as fried as possible.

I'm more than entitled to chime in sarcastically on Dead-related items.

On a pretty much unrelated note, not too long ago, a friend and I made a play to buy not "a" magic bus, but THE Magic Bus -- the one Kesey did the Acid Tests in. By the time we tracked down the rightful owner and whatsuch, somebody had just barely beat us to the punch.

That would have been quite a piece of history. Neighbors would have loved it, I'm sure. At least the Kombi hides under the tress fairly well....the Kombi with the GD/Pink Floyd posters shellaced all over it.

MY brother followed them for 10 years. Had the dreds and all. He got me into them. Seen shows at the old Boston Garden, Highgate Vermont, Albany, and Giants Stadium. Damn I miss Jerry.......
