Let the rebuilding in Toronto begin!

Patrick had to go considering all of his free agent pick-ups were total busts. They fell ass backwards into getting Crosby so he doesn't get any credit for that.

Well, Quinn went out like a blabbering idiot.

He torched his bridges and blamed his fate on the salary cap.

See ya later, loudmouth.

What do Danny Markov, Steve Sullivan & Modin all have in common? Besides the fact they're all in the playoffs.

I think it's funny that the Leafs got Sullivan, Jason Smith and Alyn McCauley in the Gilmour trade. You think those three would've helped Toronto right now? They've still got some nice pieces to build around...Sundin, Tucker, McCabe, Kaberle...just need to trim some of the dead weight on the team.

Ding dong the witch is dead...

During the Olympics, Quinn proved even with a stacked team he couldn't win so why would the Leafs want him around? He didn't start benching the floaters on this team until well into January, and for some reason puts waaaaaayyyyy too much faith in players who are over the hill or simply can't play ('sup Domi?).

Bring in Maurice! 8)

Fuck you're an idiot.

During the previous Olympics Quinn also proved he could win.
During the previous World Cup, Quinn also proved he could win.

During the past 8 years, Quinn has missed the playoffs how many times?
Quinn went 300-222-52 with 26 shootout and overtime losses as Leafs coach, twice leading Toronto to the Eastern Conference final.
That's not exactly a record of someone who doesn't know how to coach.
Shit, even this season with a bunch of stiffs forced onto him by an incompetent GM he still managed to find a way to finish the season with a winning record.

Who's the fucking idiot that brought in Allison.. Lindros, O'Neill and resigned Belfour, Berg, Belak, Antropov, Khavanov?

That's right, the fucking retard who should have been fired today.

You want to talk about his ability to coach the young guys playing for him?

Look at the Leafs record over the last few weeks when ALL of JFJ's failures were finally out of the lineup.

And to clarify whose players those young guys were... the young players who made the Leafs better at the end of this season were drafted by Quinn during the four years he spent in the role before Ferguson's arrival.

So let's talk now about the Leafs future shall we Hapless?

If Maurice is JFJ's guy... he sure as fuck underminded him today and make Maurice look like an idiot by suggesting that he (JFJ) would be searching for a new head coach and not just bringing Maurice in.
Ferguson just fired one of the NHL's all time winningest coaches and the guy in waiting is now not necessarily good enough to coach the Leafs?

If I'm Maurice I'm asking myself, do I really want to work for this idiot.. obviously he (JFJ) doesn't have faith in him or why wouldn't he have just said, Maurice is our guy.

But feel free to keep on bashing Quinn... it shows your ignorance of what a really good coach he was and still is.

Who is going to want Patrick, after that great job he did with the Pens this season.

Remember he was fleeced in what is one of the worst trades in NHL history:

Speaking as one who was a keen observer of Chairman Mo during his regime down here.....

I think it's best for him that he stay at the AHL level for a while--"under the radar" so to speak. ESPECIALLY in Hogtown. The man is smart, and he knows the game, but he really has a lot to learn about being a head coach--and he didn't learn it with the Whalers or the Hurricanes because he was protected from on high by the prince of darkness himself.

I don't think JFJ is undermining him--I think that (for once) he's looking out for what's best for the Leafs in the long term. And if Maurice really IS the future coach of the Leafs, then it's good for him to stay with the Marlies for a few seasons and (with the help of his assistants) get the larnin' that he didn't get in his previous job.

That's funny.

As for Quinn, he showed his coaching acumen in this last Olympics putting Bercheapshotout on the ice in the last minute of a live-or-die game after Bersuckerpunch had taken the stupidest penalty in the history of the Olympics and produced squat in the tournament.

It's going to be a long decade for the Chiefs, but all is not lost...........I hear Steve Baldwin is coming up to scout this summer.
